Updated the captcha on the site and now it should work well. I have used captcha recommended by Google so hopefully it should be bug free ;)

Some of you have contacted me via email with detailed review of the site. Thank you for those comments. Please keep them coming as this is work in progress and I would be happy to include some of these changes.

As mentioned before, I am consistently getting good traffic from Acordomains.:D

Some new changes/additions will be rolled out later this week. I hope these will prove useful and will help us in the appraisal process.

Trend data and related keywords now also provided with domain appraisal.

Register for free and try appraising few domains. You will see trend data and keywords. Hope these new features help with valuation process.

I think this is it for the first release. If there is more interest and new suggestions then I am happy to consider and implement what I can.

Thanks everyone for your support and great ideas.

With the,uk announcement Doesn’t that through a big spanner in the co.uk valuation market?

Pesonally, I don't think it makes much difference. It possibly dilutes the market but at the same time I think that co.uk will become more significant.

This new change (if it happens) is a bit like the potential release of all these new extensions coming up in future such as .accountant, .insurance, etc.

A good ".com" or "co.uk" always has value in the name, especially if they are generic and not too long. Also, something to consider about .uk - For example "yourdomain.co.uk" name can be held by anyone and developed as a site. While the "yourdomain.uk" version can only be held by a business and how does a business qualify to register that domain? If its a generic like shoes.uk then who gets that name - M&S, Nike, Tesco, Shoezone, etc??

I am planning on attending one of the session to be held in London. If you have any specific questions then do let me know - but please pm me as we are now moving away from the subject of this thread. My Site Review :)

I suppose my point was even if your site was a 100% accurate prior to the .uk announcement would anyone (even if the name was an established business and then it would be based more on income etc so not in your site remit) invest in buying a undeveloped co.uk for anything over a few thousand knowing a new one could be reg fee or a lot less than the co.uk and if they went brand there often anyones guess as to pricing... who knows this could even push the prices of com's up as people loose trust in .uk and worrying about .gb .scot etc

I'm sure programming etc required could be implemented but without accurate information in the pot to start doesn’t that make any valuations pretty irrelevant ...? Although on the other hand cash in on all the co.uks desperate to sell.. or you more looking for a revue of what your site looks like?

Well to be honest when I first posted this it was purely for review of website :) and then it got a little side tracked. So yes my first request was for review of website. Then of course if there are any features that users would like to see then maybe implement them in next release.

For e.g. I am tinkering with the idea of adding a website appraisal section. This will focus on live sites with traffic, domain name, revenue and few other variables.

How do you think that co.uk will become more significant ?
Surely as it's the only current open to all commercial/business namespace in the UK how could it possibly be more significant if it's importance is diluted ?

That could be open to abuse some unscrupulous domainers could add lots of white lies to inflate there value, that wouldn’t help you gain any authority

Hi - I meant market could be diluted with types of tld but not importance. For e.g. shoes.co.uk, shoes.uk, shoes.uk.com, shoes.org.uk, shoes.me.uk, etc means more variations and options available. When this happens, I feel the importance of the most known and common top level tld such as co.uk or .com only increases as this is something everyone relates to and is also able to own.

How much importance Google gives to 2 exact sites but with different tld like co.uk and org.uk - well I know as an end user where I would click but then that is just me.

The idea is for a website owner to check what their site potentially could be worth if it was developed, had traffic and some revenue. I would always expect and recommend that every buyer must ask for proof before they invest any money in a domain name or website and never just buy it based on 1 valuation. My site is one of the many variables that a buyer/sellar can use. If someone claims that their site gets 500 visitors per day then surely a buyer should check that and any other stats before spending hard earned cash ;)

However I do see your point and would only want to provide this option as guidance to buyers and sellars.

    All,

    Quick question and help needed.

Where can I get past sell prices of domains? Ideally I would like to know sell prices for all tld's but if that is not possible then looking for at least these 3 co.uk, .com and .net.

    Thanks in advance.

    All,

Just a quick update and apology to all USERS because for the last 24 hours the site had lost connection with the database and as a result no domain appraisals were possible.

This has now been fixed. Please let me know if you encounter any other issues.

Oh and Good Morning to all!!!
