Can't post in the parking section, so hope here is ok?

Most will know of these, but if you don't and your looking for something like this, these two are amazing value for money.

My 1st choice is this one http://codecanyon.net/item/this-domain-is-for-sale-wordpress-plugin/8469865

You can get the non wordpress for just $8

Example domain looks like this www.marcroy.co.uk

    Another is http://themeforest.net/item/domain-broker-2-landing-page-to-sell-domains/12578919

Hope these come in handy for acorners.

You can add them to any cpanel, so no need for a new account, just park them and thats it. You can add ads, other domains or content if you wish, set them up in minutes.

You will have David telling me off now, but yes, I guess you could park a decent portfolio for free as they use little resources.

Thanks Caz, I've tried a few of these - but they've never worked as expected.

I'll give the top one a shot.

As an FYI, if you have whm and are setting up your domains as parked or aliases.

If you use a combination of the following in the .htaccess and 'custom 404 pro' wp plugin, set to redirect all to '/' you can forward www.domain.co.uk/<anything> to domain.co.uk, ensuring you get the most out of any adsense earnings for expired SEO domains.

    RewriteCond %{HTTP_HOST} ^www\.domain\.co\.uk [NC]
    RewriteRule ^(.*)$ http://domain\.co\.uk\/$1 [L,R=301]

Does akismet work on contact forms ? I thought it were only on comments.

If it does, I've wasted soo much time adding spam detection stuff.

I'm pretty sure it does - it's based on blacklisting the whole site isn't it?

It's worked with contact forms for me before using Joomla.

Something new every day. I'll have to try it next time I set up a site.

I'd love something like this that works simply with nameservers, rather than having to go through and park every domain in cpanel. Anyone aware of anything out there, or perhaps a way of modifying these themes?

Tim, you could do that with wildcard dns and put it in the skeleton folder, or you could use quick script which auto parks domains. Have a it so it checks if a domain is parked already it does nothing, otherwise it parks the domain. I use this on my parking script, without adding it to my database I wouldn't be able to track stats so it auto adds.

Any chance of a step by step guide on doing this via wildcard dns please Skinner? Every time I've tried in the past it hasn't worked for me.

    Cheers, Grant

+1 I'd love to have a workaround having to park each domain :)

I didn't setup the wildcard servers, I had my host do it, so I can't help there. Most will require you to have a dedicated IP and appropriate hosting.

As for the auto-parking, thats easy.

I have a script which parses the URL (it doens't accept most of the new urls as I don't own any), it then checks my database to see if the domain exists already, if it exists the hit counter increments, if it doesn't exist it parks the url using a bit of ajax to load this URL http://user:pass@cp_host:2082/front...html?domain=domain2park&ndomain=masteraccount. Read the return for "successful" and add the hit counter.

Put this file into the skeleton directory for your hosting account. I guess this could be updated to point at normal account too, but since I didn't set up the wildcard hosting so I don't know about that.
