is it? lol I don't track domains that I have no intention of renewing.. I'll try it now. Yep it renewed. So much for nominet repeatedly saying 'you have 90 days to renew then the domain will become available any time after that'
Another way to test if the systems are running to drop domains today (but there's nothing with the correct drop day as we're a day ahead) is to unrenew that domain, and then go through the domain manager (the one end users use) and delete it. It'll put it in the queue to be deleted before midnight today. If it drops, the drop system is operational, there's just nothing with the right drop day tagged, meaning we'll probably revert to the 91 post expiry. If it doesn't drop, then things are purposely halted today.
I just responded to their cookie cutter email (which I now know 3 people got the exact same one) and pointed out that I renewed a domain after 91 days when they repeatedly said you only have 90 days to renew and then it is released. I doubt they'll answer - I think they have a list of people to send the same email to which they do just before going home then forget all about it the next day.
Nothing so far from today or yesterday. Oh and the DAC is now far far slower. Yep seems like everything is normal in Nominet's world. *Edit - yesterdays domains starting to drop like a normal drop - ie not all dumped at once. No sign of any of 'todays' domains dropping yet though.
I thought everything was going back to normal today so no need to bring drop lists forward as that might confuse things further or has there been another bombshell?
If I have it correct, everything has "gone back to normal" with regards to domains deleted, but we lost a day somewhere.. ? If the domains we thought would drop yesterday are dropping today, is this normal?
Yes that is correct, i believe the day we lost is when they downed everything on Tuesday.. now the drop dates should be normal... but DAC times are wild at the min.
I was going to suggest, do you think they have moved resources over to some redundant hardware temporarily? That can't be a good sign.
It dropped 10 minutes before midnight, so the system was running yesterday, proving the domains scheduled to drop were deliberately held.
Most of yesterdays domains didn't drop though.. and they have now started to drop today so domains dated 11th will drop on the 12th like normal so basically people need to be looking at droplists from the 11th otherwise they are a day in front?
Here is one from the 11th that has dropped today (12th) Domain name: proflex.co.uk Registrar: Monaghan Consultants Ltd [Tag = ALEXM] Relevant dates: Registered on: 12-Dec-2019 Expiry date: 12-Dec-2020 Last updated: 12-Dec-2019
None of yesterday’s domains dropped. The test was to prove if the domains were deliberately stopped from dropping, and as the software dropped a manually scheduled domain, they were held.
Here are three random domains that i believe have dropped today which had an drop date of 11/12/2019 and those that have a drop date of 12/12/2019 are showing none have dropped. > proflex.co.uk > facingbrexit.co.uk > mancatcorp.co.uk So i believe today is dropping domains which expired 11/09/2019 with a drop date of 11/12/2019
