I had nothing but Sony Vaio's before they went end of line, only sensible replacement in terms of quality and build I've found are the HP ranges. £1000 upwards is your best bet for quality, the cheaper variants in my opinion often feel like there a totally different quality so most likely outsourced or lesser quality parts.

I went for the Oman range , purely because I needed video editing power but the Evny's are pretty spec'y

I have bought Huawei MateBook X Pro before USA sanctions to replace my 6 years old MacBook Pro, I can't say anything other than, it was and still a very pleasant experience.

I don't think I could go back to Windows. Are you running Linux at least?

No just windows, it was hard at first but it worth it, you won't realize how limited MAC OS was, till using windows, the only feature I missed is the three-finger dragging gesture.

The Dell XPS range are very high quality. Used them as primary machine for years without a single problem. The Dell Outlet often have really good coupon offers from week to week.

Would also suggest, like others, Dell Inspiron or XPS.
