Some of you may be aware, I've been trying to rebrand for a while and cannot settle on a brand name. Intel Digital, Katch, Unicode and none have worked for me. I'm now at a point where a decision needs to be made. There has been too much procrastination and I have an active company with real-life customers who I can't mess around. This has been a terribly messy process already, I moved my entire server from a managed host to managing it myself on AWS which has been cheaper and already given me much more scope. I moved from Apache to Litespeed, and did a couple of other things and have lots of projects in the mix.

All I need now is to decide on a brand name. Intel Digital was good, but it was terrible for SEO (as you can imagine) and whilst good locally, it wasn't good for other stuff "intel" isn't something I want to associate with. I've been catching and buying domains for a couple of months now hoping to strike gold, I have a ton of domains which could be good but don't sound right to me. I need you, the good people of this community, to help me shape the future of my company by voting which brand name sounds better to you.

I'll place the shortlisted options in a poll, and you can cast your vote.

Thanks in advance for your opinion.

Which of those do you own the .co.uk, .uk and have potential to get the .com to protect the brand ? Brightwork is by far the best branding out of those, but both .com and .co.uk have establised business on so your creating yourself work straight away from a brand awareness point of view.

Personally I wouldnt choose any of those for the niche your trying to enter.

    I agree with Adam.

Obsidian and Ocelot don't pass the phone / radio test for me. And that means they fail for word of mouth recommendations too.

(actually had to edit this as had spelled Ocelot wrong!)

For our best opinions don't we need to know what the business is?

Ok, that's a fair one. I'm basically a registrar, specialising in premium domains. But we also take on web and graphic design clients and provide services such as web hosting, PPC and social media. But the main focus is on the sale of domain names.

Only one of those names is even passable IMHO - Brightwork. Don't shoot the messenger, but I think the others are awful.

IMHO, you need a 'non of the above' option on your poll

I'm with Armistice I'm afraid... Do you have any other alternatives that 'say what it does on the tin'?
.. or as the services are quite varied look for a more generic like 'web .... ' or '... digital' .. or about the type of service... 'prefessional....' or 'easy..... ' really something short but informative and memorable...
I often find myself visiting this page for inspiration... http://www.dailyblogtips.com/200-prefixes-and-suffixes-for-domain-names/
It's so difficult getting a brand right... so good luck... but remember when it's done, it's done.. it is what it is...

This isn’t a comprehensive list, just some that I’ve picked out that I like so far. Thanks for everybody’s input so far.

    This & check social channels.

I actually develop business names for people on People Per Hour (116 sales and counting) and it makes life so much easier if you can get the domain for your name.

I'm not sure any of the names in the poll do this for you.

    Some things to consider

    1. As others have said you have to be able to say it easily
    2. It really doesn't have to describe your business
    3. But you must love the name

It strikes me that if you liked the Intel Digital name maybe a tweak of that or a brand with Digital at the end would work.

Or pick 2 names - one for the domains and one for the other work - you can use them as trading styles for one business.

And once you've picked it and started trading it - dont keep changing it.

Brightwork is the best of that bunch and passes radio test , but sounds too much like an 'ill do a logo and a website for 10 quid' internet worker sort of site to me. Doesn't scream authority and class. To be honest I prefer Intel Digital. Just an honest opinion.

Seeing as you're a bit of a loon, Ben...I'll sell you Cartoon.uk for ten grand, plus £1,500 a week and a 15% sell on clause.

    Scratch all of that.

I may have spent too much time in front of SkySports on Deadline Day.
