    I have been working on the new website over the last couple of months, with a soft launch released back in mid/late November 2020.

    Core functionality is now in place that matches/exceeds existing features found on the old website (seemly.co.uk).

    This means that the old website will be closed down pretty soon, with traffic redirected to DomainSalesHistory.uk

    Existing Features:
    1. UK domain sales history migrated from old app
    2. The new app contains around 3k additional records to what can be found on old app
    3. While there are no benefits right now to having an account, you can register for an account here. Functionality restrictions will be implemented for unauthed users.

    Latest Update: Search - Column Ordering

    The ability to order/sort by Price and Sale Date has now been applied (both ascending and descending).
    I only realised I missed this when I wanted to use it today... :rolleyes:

    I will eventually add support for other columns, but at the moment it doesn't feel like a priority.

    Example: Top 10 UK domains sold at AcornDomains.co.uk

    I just tried this and it only returns "Registered" for each domain.
    But I like the dynamic loading of the results, a much improved experience over the old site.
    Also, it would be nice to have the ability to sort results by each column here too.
    I don't see a limit mentioned anywhere (previously it was 200 I think), are you simply letting people exhaust their 1000 whois quota however they want?

    Later edit: I just noticed singular whois queries don't work either right now. I suspect you might have exceeded your Tag Whois2 quota

    Yup! You're correct! More work required to cater for this issue. Thanks for alerting me to it. I will have a think and release a fix in due course.

    Sorry for any inconvenience to anyone.

    I think it's the first time this has happened, so well worth pointing out and celebrating:

    A shout out to @flip on out-performing other platforms for UK domain name sales over the last 7 days!

    (yes the previous 7 days shows inconsistency, but this week certainly shows a step in the right direction).

    I don't know why ukbackorder is on there. It's not the same market as they are backorders (mostly £50 sales) and not domainer sales or public auctions. In my opinion it should be things with public auctions, flip and domainlore etc, and other sales venues like sedo, dan, afternic etc. Don't get me wrong - it's nice to have a free mention :) But I don't think it's a true reflection of the market.

    I agree about mostly £50 sales due to them being backorders, but there are a reasonable number of sales that in my opinion warrant being posted.

    I don't think I have a way of differentiating the type of record found in the feed as to if it's a sale or a backorder. If I decided to not add any, then the sales would be missed.

    The only comparator I have would be an assumption: £50 = backorder, which might not be true?

    If you think of the web app as historical records of money changing hands in return for a UK domain name, then that's probably a better description for the site.

    I once got berated for the app being hosted on a non-memorable domain (seemly.co.uk), and I don't think the following is any better:

    HistoricRecordsOfMonetaryValueChangingHandsForDomainNames.uk

    A few things I noticed:
    - bulk whois for muscle.uk or fitness.uk fails to pickup the tag [Tag = FAIRY] and leaves it blank;
    - no option to chose how many results per page;
    - no search functionality on the homepage – I think that is the most important feature;
    Also it would be nice to have an option to submit private sales if you have an account.

    Thanks for pointing that out @seemly

    Stats are looking great and the below really shows that getting the highest price for your domain is not a question of which platform you use. It's great to have had over 50% of all UK domain auction sales this week in a monetary sense. Thanks to everyone that uses the platform and I welcome anyone who is not already a seller to give it a try ( It's FREE! ) and buyers are plenty!

    I don't want to hijack the DomainSalesHistory.uk thread in any way. But Cheers! and great work Seemly.

    Latest Update: Bulk Whois

    Unfortunately I have had to restrict Bulk Whois functionality to Account Holders only. In an ideal world this will be a short-term change.

    Individual whois queries can still be submitted via the button on sales table rows, or typing directly in URL:
    https://domainsaleshistory.uk/whois/acorndomains.co.uk

    There is now a throttle in place of 300 queries per minute, which averages 5 per second, as per Nominet Whois2 TOS.
    This is a cap implemented for all - account holders, or not.

    I don't currently know what was causing the initial issues. I suspect the functionality was being abused due to it being publicly available.
    Hopefully these changes will mean that for those happy to sign up for an account now have access to a reliable tool they find useful.

    I still haven't looked at the issue @webber mentioned earlier about TAGs not displaying. This has been added to the top of the TODO list, though (along with the other items also suggested).

    Sorry about the delay. I think I burnt myself out a bit with all the work getting the new app launched.
    I'm hoping that I will have the motivation and energy to do a bit more in the coming weeks.
