FFS - my old phone has kaput but has the 2FA code for Nom.

I want to set up again on my new phone - but I can't find a way to do it. Anyone know a trick to get it sorted?

If you noted down the 20 char or so code when you setup the 2FA then you can recreate it on the new phone by manually entering on 2FA app. If not then you'll need to ask Nom to disable it so you can go through the process. I would make note of the code for future reference.

It happened to me earlier in the week.

I had to handwrite a letter requesting they remove 2FA for my account (included the email on the letter) Signed and dated.

took a picture of it as well as my driving licence.

Sent it across via email and phoned them back then they removed 2FA.

I don't like companies that do this. Whilst it is helpful to reset your 2FA, it means that it isn't really secure. I remember losing access to one of my old DropBox accounts because I had set 2FA up on a mobile number, and then changed the number. I spent a large amount of effort phoning my ex-mobile provider and managed to get a SIM sent out to me with the old number on it, simply to get back into this account. It worked, but then it wanted me to change my password and I had set it up on a private email using a domain that was no longer registered to me :D:rolleyes:

Anyway, long story short, if 2FA is set up I would rather lose access to it forever and it be encrypted somewhere indefinitely, than allow a company like Nominet to bypass it.
