What are your thoughts for measuring the quality of an aged domain/website.

Moz domain authority or Majestic trust flow?

Hollistic approach. Can have high DA and be full of spam. Tend to look at the all round picture. If just have to take one metric i would take Trust flow but that can be flawed at times too.

I would say trust flow + DA + archive.org check to make sure it had not been used as a porn site/michael cors somewhere in between + anchor text check to make sure it was not spammed with exact match links, then general sense of it after that.

    Can normally tell quite quickly

Agreed with the above, I normally use a combination of Moz, ahrefs, majestic and SemRush and Archive.org. But rarely check the DA , TF ratings. Typcially check how many referring domains, what domains they are how much junk/goodness the profile has. Plus the percentage of anchor/brand matches and the top percentage of achors used.

Semrush often pics up some alot that that the others don't because they calculate backlinks differently, while the other platforms are more reliable for newer data.

Takes two mins to see if a spammy domain or subdomains have Loui vuitton anchor text and crappy backlinks to an an industrial related domain lol
