I always feel good when I buy a new book. Usually code/design related recently...

but I've been trying to add to the resource section of dotting.co.uk and maybe get some inspiration from a domaining book to write a couple of articles on it - I've not had much luck though!

So far I've only come across this one book:

The Domain Game

and even Amazon doesn't have a description of it.

Has anyone read this book and what do you think?
Are there any decent domaining books out there?

I don't feel like I can learn much more about domaining but would be interesting to read peoples' stories and maybe give me some direction in writing a few articles for beginners.

I quite enjoyed The Domain Game. It's written from a very US perspective, but it does a pretty good job of covering the early days and the current state of the domain name industry. Plus I'm mentioned on page 36, which came as a nice surprise as I was reading it :)

...Plus I'm mentioned on page 36...

That's classic. Major props! Are you more a .com or a .co.uk guy Edwin?
BTW I'll probably come by your stand at Internet World... (maybe even ask you to sign page 36 for me :D)

It was in relation to http://www.igoldrush.com/ , a domain info site I started back in 1996 (long before DNJournal.com and other sources of industry information). As far as I know, my site was the oldest dedicated information site about domain names ever (as opposed to a site trying to sell domains, a domain registrar, or other "service" site). I don't have the site any more - sold it in 2000 - but I still have very fond memories of those early days.

I have many more .com than .co.uk domains, but my heart lies with .co.uk these days as it's by far the strongest leg of my portfolio...

We should all contribute and write domaining for dummies ;)
