I'm getting "419 Page expired" errors all over the place – from login to search to bulk whois. Is it just me? Seems to coincide with the introduction of the cookies notice
I was in the process of getting Ezoic added to the site, but as it's messing around with stuff like this, I've turned it off. It should be working now.
Latest Update: Whois functionality removed. I've been made aware that the whois functionality on the site was broken. I took a look, and I wasn't able to fix it easily. I've got other projects I'd much rather spend my time on, so all whois functionality has been removed. It's also unlikely to be fixed, as this project just isn't worth my time anymore. Sorry for any inconvenience!
This IP change broke a few public systems and annoyingly it wasn't even mentioned in the maintenance details
The code snippet I have in place was bastardised from seemly.co.uk, which was written many moons ago using sockets and using the Whois2 service. Socket connections are not an area of expertise for me, and I'm not interested in spending my time troubleshooting something that gives me no useful error logs, I didn't break, and I don't even use. Sorry to those of you who previously used the functionality on my site!
Shame, It was a very good tool, I were using it in daily basis for the past year, I have sold a few of HR domains using this tool, you may try to charge a small monthly/yearly fee for the tool, I think it worth the money.
As an update to the bulk whois, I have been in touch with Nominet, as I can only think that they have blocked my account for some reason. I do have a throttle on whois requests that should average out to 5 requests per second per IP (I know nominet says per user, but that would take some additional development). I don't even use the bulk whois functionality on my site, so if it does get reinstated, can you all please be respectful of the Nominet policies...
I wouldn't worry too much about it, they're going to be using RDAP going forward anyway. May be easier to plug into that? Are you using searchable WHOIS API?

Searchable WHOIS is £400 plus VAT per year. Yes, most likely it will align with the gTLD policy in September. But your clients can do the rdap query themselves, so it's for them to worry about. See this rdap implementation – it's all done client-side in javascript
Sorry, I'd need to pay £400 p/a for access to searchable WHOIS to use RDAP? I don't mind spending some time getting the bulk whois working again, but I don't want to pay £400 for a service I don't personally use, and I have no way to profit from. I understand the odd 1 or 2 of you may be willing to pay a few £'s a month, but that won't cover the cost.
Ahh, awesome. Thanks, Ciprian! I'll take a look at migrating over to that RDAP at some point then, get the bulk functionality working again.
Searchable WHOIS would probably have been your best option prior to RDAP. But now, I would say RDAP is probably a really good way to integrate a sort of WHOIS feature.
