Not sure they could afford £100,000 if they can't renew their SSL certificate.

Less.uk has same owner as Less.co.uk.

    Redirecting to the auction less.co.uk

They screwed up by having the page up without all the assets for their launch. I guess they have a sloppy IT dept or it is outsourced.

    No development server etc...

Not even 4 weeks ago Tesla.com was without a renewed SSL cert. Took about 1 week for them to get that sorted.

BlaBlaCar have just absorbed less.com assets into their business haven't they? Doesn't look like they are going to carry on the Less brand, other than a bodged redirect. I don't see why they would be interested in less.co.uk.

If you are right then they may plan to sell less.com for over 1M USD and try to sweeten the deal by acquiring and selling peripheral domain names.

That's what I would do with a name like that.

On the other hand they may be planning something else for the LESS name.

How do you know they are owned by the same? The redirect was in place prior to the .co.uk drop. It redirects with a 301 to less.co.uk, then via a 302 to domainlore (because the .co.uk has a forward in place).

By logical deduction. No matter. If I was a customer now I would be taking a long hard look at that.

And saying it was in place before just reinforces it. I am a developer so I know what's going on there.

agree with you there Ian - you can't say they are owned by the same registrant because of a redirect. I note that the .uk is with 123reg. Was it one of those mass registrations by 123reg. I say that because I noticed that a .co.uk domain we picked up also has the .uk redirecting to it. That was also a 123reg domain registered in Oct 2017. Could it be that 123reg themselves set up these redirects?

This must be unique to the .uk scenario then Sorry I'm not really aware of what the registrars have been doing in this case.

Appears someone's made a shiny shilling out of it anyway.
