I am an accredited registrar with Nominet, coming from channel partner in 2017. Next step is to become a member of Nominet. What is the application process like?

I'm looking forward to registering my own domains for under £4 and I have started transferring my current portfolio onto my tag so I can hold myself accountable in getting membership before this time next year comes round and I have to pay £80 a renewal :oops::oops::confused:

Don't you have to get membership before you can become a registrar?

Been many a year since I've done it, but as an existing Nominet accredited registrar, it should be a case of applying through your online account, paying the £500 (?) and having them approve it. Cannot see it being any more than a few moments of your time.

As you clearly know about Nominet I'd suggest contacting Nominet and asking them or looking at the application process on their website, it's an easy process.

I just wondered if there was any stipulations or prerequisites, or if it was jut a case of "pay and go".

Basically pay and go. You did the 'hard' part becoming a registrar.

Thanks, I wondered if maybe I'd pay the membership fee and if I got rejected they would keep the fee, though being accredited I'm probably not going to be rejected. Anyway thanks for clearing it up for me! I am looking forward to joining.

No, Nominet are money grabbers, but they won't scoop that low (possibly, maybe, perhaps).
