I emailed & linkedin messaged a few of .co.uk asking if they wanted to sell but didnt get a single reply back.
According to Nominet the domains aren't registered to Shoes .co.uk Ltd. Perhaps the .co.uk was moved/sold to the other Ltd prior to liquidation.
@Whois-Search just mentioned on the nominet forum that something might be happening - tag.uk looks to have been "unrenewed" ? https://www.nominet.uk/whois/?query=Tag.uk
only the names still on fasthosts that I can see. The ones that were moved away are still showing as renewed.
Going back to the original "who got what" I've just spotted some more I caught in my Nominet WDM account that I'd not shared, all now on Flip btw pyg.uk rgg.uk snmp.uk qnap.uk provided.uk merger.uk Warning: these were all caught in the boring old fashion way and no Fasthost staff or services were harmed in the process
https://www.theregister.com/2020/09/17/dot_uk_domain_sales/ The claim from Fasthosts is 38 names, I thought there was more stolen names than that. "Fasthosts said the sales were "a mistake," with its head of sales and marketing Michelle Stark telling The Register on Wednesday that 38 expiring domains had been renewed and shifted before they publicly dropped in a "one-off online transaction" due to "human error.""
That article is incredibly kind Why does it say "sold" in the title and throughout the article, these weren't sales? Why has Nominet said.. “We have intervened to ensure that any domains which have also been transferred to different registrars are reinstated to the correct registrant. Fasthosts have reversed the remainder this morning." No they haven't? "Fasthosts allowed at least one of its customers to renew and obtain the domain names on the day of their expiry, just before they were due to drop." "Fasthosts said the sales were "a mistake," with its head of sales and marketing Michelle Stark telling The Register on Wednesday that 38 expiring domains had been renewed and shifted before they publicly dropped in a "one-off online transaction" due to "human error." " and one of those transfer requests was wrongly processed. She insisted there were “no loopholes” in the system." one?
Just received from Nominet, I would like to reply with the full list of names, can anyone help me compile the list of names in question? Thanks Greg
I can provide those that were backordered, which was a fair few of them. I'll email you the details. Edit: email sent.
Nominet must have footprint of all domains, they should no which domains were renewed and moved to new registrant, this should be within their data. You can only provide information on the ones you know about which cannot be the full list. Nominet needs to be better than this.
I just spoke to someone at Nominet on the phone They told me they will take back domains transferred to different tags as soon as today Worryingly when pressed on what will happen with the registrars involved he used the word "intent" a couple of times. You can sign a contract with t&c and still claim you didn't know and that seems fine with them somehow They said they had no evidence this had happened before until recently They will be working to ensure this doesn't happen again and might release a statement regarding that but no statement was likely on punishments fore registrars involved that will be handled internally
Is there a list of the registrars they were transfered too ? I guess difficult if any of them allow outside registrations and aren't a self managed. Although realistically , you cant ban a TAG that already holds domains legitimately bought before all this.
If they feel you've broken the t&c I think they can terminate you contract as a registrar or take any actions under sanctions in the registrar agreement they feel are appropriate
Looks like Trident, tct and trm dropped yesterday, now caught. Were they dropped my Nominet or the person looking to move them delete them or FastHost delete them..
