Looks like SIGNS has finally renewed his portfolio. Had a few sitting on my watchlist at dropped and all were renewed.

Thanks. Interesting. I was looking at a few of those too that were expected to drop 5th September. Forgive the naivety (newbie) but how come these can be renewed so long after the drop date?

My guess is that he perhaps phoned ahead and asked for a hold, or time to pay. Perhaps waiting for cashflow? As he has so many, probably gave him time to renew rather than risking losing potential 10's of thousands of domains.

Thanks Ben. Makes sense from a business perspective (I'm sure we'd all do the same in that position) but seems like a very strange system to me where that's allowed to happen. What's the point in having a clear process and drop date if this can simply be pushed back under 'special circumstances'.

Perhaps they will drop on the next cycle.

I read on another thread about 3DWEB that his were probably set to auto renewal but he may have exceeded his credit limit, so instead of dropping they were put on hold.

Probably the same here, but could be wrong?

That sounds plausible. However, Nominet are known for their underhand dealings with larger investors

Interesting... Do you have a list?
All the ones I had on dropped.uk seem to have been renewed

Unfortunately not. Perhaps @dropped.uk would be kind enough to provide the historic droplists for those days in a downloadable .zip, if we ask nicely and leave a review. :D

Correct, not all have been renewed, but I also haven't seen any drop.

Yeah, I noticed there's a fair few that are now officially "held".

    Displaying a different status?
Other registries do that but never seen it with Nominet.
    Can you share an example?

The status hasn't changed from Nominet, "held" is just how Guy presents the status on Dropped.uk.

Yes, I have seen that status on dropped.uk before, but it's just Guy's algorithms making that assumption and not picked up from the Whois or TD DAC.
It would be nice if Nominet publicly revealed this info and stop us from guessing around.

It would be nice if Nominet did a lot of things, let's be honest.
