Yet another nail in the coffin for the forum and yet another reason not to visit.
He removed it himself. We allow users to delete all their own posts. We offer freedom here at Acorn. Why has the post by @boxerdog been removed?
I think you should reconsider this feature. I think it comes across as invasive and surveillance-like, which might make users feel overly visible. This could end up further discouraging participation and limiting the sense of privacy and freedom to browse without feeling watched.
Any way to opt out of this the same way you can change visibility on the "who's online" section?
current priorities:smtp servers (we keep improving these, and occasionally they break), too large % of real unregistered people read Acorn (does disservice to our image and doesn’t allow to grow), account upgrade page needs to be redone, TOS need to be done, new live auction feeds are coming (+Dynadot integration), and few more.
Just use a good Mail server, Sendgrid and SMTP2go are good. At least until you've cleansed the membership.
Yes! This makes 100% sense. The business part starts with costs > these costs add up significantly when you are sending 250k-500k emails/month

@Adam H have you ever tested the "Who has viewed this thread" addon on your forums? Cool, isn't it?
Helmuts,
This feature is creepy. This forum isn't Linkedin. Lean in to what make forums different to social.
You want to show sellers there is business at acorn.... I visit daily and am a prolific domain buyer - I won't be visiting until this is removed.
Knowing there is zero chance of this happening. I'm out
So premium members would have the choice for privacy but normal users can't?@Admin, good morning! A quick thought: can we make this feature optional for Premium Members?
Good job!!
I think he meant -> only premium members can see who viewed the thread. Am I right @Helmuts ?So premium members would have the choice for privacy but normal users can't?
Curious has anyone voiced a positive opinion on this?
Seriously though, it baffles me why you would think this is a good feature.
You've been told by several members though that they have reduced their activity, which in turn leads to less business. This feature is to bring in more business here.
It doesn't show that it has quality users though, that's done by people posting. If anything it's leading to potential confusion, you've got the typical "views" that show as of right now 494 views. However there are only 36 members who have viewed the thread. Why it is a good feature? Because it is clear proof that Acorn has quality users. If you wish to sell your domains > you want to know that the place has eyeballs, don't you?
you are leaking infoAdmin said:Hello. So, do anyone happen to know anything about Whois and how it can be accessed?
