From now one let’s simply pretend everything I asked has been asked instead by @sigh or @webber or @ian or @Murray or @Edwin or @keys or @boxerdog ? On that basis, please continue.

I wouldn't ask that, my question would be how can I get on this gravy train

It's a shame Nominet don't do anything which leaves members to try and police each other where it can become personal

Play along, say you would ask everything I said exactly as I said it and Sean will be more than delighted to respond to it all.

I decline to ask those questions (David?) or take part in this discussion thank you. I declared myself out of all this when I messaged both Sean and Ben. If Ben has found a legitimate way of catching, which it certainly seems to be the case (as much as it pains me), then my time is better spent trying to work out what magic he's using. Merry Christmas all.

    Where we are so far:

@Hay avoiding answering 4 simply questions about his suggested potential relationship with other Nominet members. @webber states questions are fair enough to ask but @Hay dodged responding. Please don’t forget.

@CreativeMix making statements but when asked to explain what he means says he could but refuses to do so despite what’s being asked of him being easily attributable to many other forum posters. Wants to know who I am as if it would somehow change his answers if he did?

I haven't refused anything, I've made the promise that when you give us your true identity I'll answer your questions. Sounds simple to me?

The real problem here is Nominet's ineptitude. Getting rid of Ben doesn't fix the problem, it just shifts the balance of power to those running hosted catching and TAG farms.

Cheating is endemic because Nominet's inaction has created a race to the bottom.

Refusing by virtue of not having done so already. Knowing more about me won’t change the questions asked above or whether you’re really prepared to answer them on a public forum. The only question I feel you should be asking of me is are my questions of you relevant to what you’ve previously posted and appropriate for this forum. I certainly don’t need to see your identification to read your forum posts.

On the one hand you complain all the time but you don’t do yourself any favours when you’re given the opportunity to explain what you mean within your own statements.

Who’s suggested getting rid of Ben? Why do you think he doesn’t want to answer the four simple questions I asked him above, relating to what is in one of the pastebins? Pot and kettle?

Cheating is endemic because it’s cheap and easy for the moment.

Back to my other questions if you don’t mind.

The best cure for all of this...

Rather than giving catchers access to public services, Nominet could build a user interface where catchers login and load the domains they want to poll and domains can only be loaded the day before they drop (This means they can't login on the day of the drop and adjust the domains they have in their poll list)

Nominet could set a default where every account polls for 200ms thus covering 24 hours, once that the domains that account has loaded have dropped then the account finishes for the day (The user will not be able to login and add additional domains to chase that day because this needs to be done 24 hours before the drop date)

    What would the benefits be...

    1) There will never be any flaws again in Nominets systems because people won't have public access
    2) Every account polls at the same speed regardless
    3) Nominet will see a clear pattern in members logging into accounts at what times and what domains get loaded
    4) If you have two accounts you will not be able to strategise with chasing patterns and speeds throughout the day (If you did have two accounts and you loaded one domain on one account and one on the other... when one of those domains drops you will not be able to login and put the same domain on the other account because again this would have to be done 24 hours prior)
    5) This would put a stop to 75% of the current problems

@Vincent Saint James calm down mate. This is for Nominet to ask and investigate.
While I wish some of these questions were answered in this thread for various reasons, some rather selfish, we mustn't forget that nobody has any obligation to answer to you or to anyone else here. I still think it's positive that we can all have these discussions and all parties are engaging, to some degree or another.

I realise you’re not going to answer the four easy questions I asked so I will shut up about them from now on.

Why did you let @CreativeMix “use your code” and in what way did he do so? What was in it for you given you apparently know of a feature or method that nobody else seemingly does? Were you just being kind?

You’ve just suggested a solution to a situation everyone else trying to compete with you seems to have, but you don’t. Why would you want anything changed? If you really want to see Nominet change something, please detail the feature or method you’re using right here in this thread...

I don't agree with this, but I'm no expert on this matter.
In my opinion simply publishing the drop time or ideally dropping all domains at 2pm will solve most problems since there will be no need for DAC for dropcatching.
    Just my two cents...

I don't like it when he is getting all the good drops either, but realistically, why would he do that?
I've been on the receiving end of a barrage of abusive messages from Ben in the past.
He is a terrible looser and a rather deplorable character when he doesn't get his way.
Completely the opposite when he is doing well and wants to befriend you.
But, like I said, I'm not catching at the moment so not really care that much about the current situation...
Merry Christmas to everyone! Even to you Ben

It doesn't appear that the DAC is being used, hence irrelevance of multiple tags and that whole argument. Removal of the DAC will most likely not stop this working. That was the original point of the thread before it got derailed, to discuss other ways of polling the EPP (which would not be a breach of nominet's AUP). I found some timing issues which I mentioned that don't explain everything. I have also found some strange EPP anomalies where you can appear to 'queue' requests but neither of these explain the situation. It's a conundrum. I don't think this is a flaw, a cheat, or an exploit. It is simply a way of approaching things from a different point of view.

I’ve no idea either. Why would he post an alternative method to what’s current when he’s doing very well and many others aren’t? I’ve also no idea. Why would he let @CreativeMix “use his code” (whatever that actually means)? I’ve also no idea. Why’s he even on here posting and not laughing away at home? Maybe he’s lonely. ‍I’ve no idea.
