Just wanting to know what pricing structure would people buy at (if they would) for GEO's

    examples

    York.co.uk £1000
    York.org.uk £????
    York.me.uk £????

So my question really is, is it worth regging or catching the .org.uk or .me.uk's of GEO's? ;)

York.co.uk for £1000 I'll buy it for that much, try more like £10,000

.org.uk I would catch if a population of 50k UK exacts plus.
.me.uk not worth catching, I own afghanistan.me.uk and there's no interest.

    York.co.uk £1000 - just an example ;)

    Was thinking people could say

    York.co.uk £1000
    York.org.uk £500
    York.me.uk £50

    thanks for your input though!

Need to check the rules for the use of .me.uk s. I think there are restrictions that would impact on their value.

Might be worth a punt to someone with York as a surname - but Nil as a geo. Sorry.

    BTW

York and £1000 were just examples. I don't own any!

I just was after an overall idea for them ;)

Compared to the .co.uk domain, I would say between 10 and 25% for the .org.uk

Certainly possible for .org.uk to sell for 4 figures, so if York.co.uk was worth £20k I think £2 to £4k certainly possible for .org.uk

Also think about if the co.uk is developed etc, Or if they would ever sell...? Out of the current 66 or so cites quite a few are owned by companies that just don't tend to sell that could increase the value of the org.uk by at least 10%

There are rules on the "ownership" of me.uk domains since 2004 (I think), but NOT on the use!

The rules were changed to say that a me.uk domain can now only be registered by or transferred to an individual (It's not always checked), but the last time I checked with Nominet, they said it CAN be used commercially.

In my experience org.uk geos fetch up to 10% price of .co.uk.

    If Belfast.co.uk sold for £25k, then Belfast.org.uk would probably fetch £2,500. However, I don't think I'd get £250 for Belfast.me.uk. Maybe £50-£100 for Belfast.me.uk?

    org.uk 10% of .co.uk
    .me.uk 0.2% to 0.5% of the co.uk

Anyone fancy some city.me.uk names ;)

So Phillip based on your 0.2% for .me.uks what do you reckon Afghanistan#me#uk is worth then ?

    If Afghanistan#co#uk sold for 200k then 0.2% is £400

You reckon it's worth that or what ?

BTW I have priced on Sedo at £1500, you never know ?

    If Afghanistan.co.uk sold for 200k then at 0.5% for a .me.uk is £1000 - so you never know ;)

    Good luck with the sale.

    Hi Doodle,

Have you been out in the sun in Afghanistan? ;)

There have been some really good .me.uk's come up for sale on Acorn for £10 to £20. Why would afghanistan/me/uk go for much more?

    Cheers, Luke

    Hi Luke

I never said it sold for 200k but it would be a big sale for sure on .co.uk

I never said I think my .me.uk is worth more than some £20 sales on Acorn but I was only going on what Phillip said and also Acorn is always dodgy low reseller prices and I am talking end user.

    Thanks

Ah, the end-user .... where to find them, that's the key.

    Good luck with it.

By the way, is there a list of sold prices for .me.uk's anywhere - Acorn's domains sales shows a couple of decent sales (viagra & houseinsurance) but is there any other oracle of .me.uk sale prices?

    Cheers, luke

I would be astonished if Afghanistan.co.uk went for more than 1,000 pounds. There's no commercial potential there at all, at the moment. What on earth would you use the domain to sell?

Yes my value is a bit over the top, I was trying compare my £1500 I have my .me.uk priced at to the .co.uk price but came out a bit over the top, I would say the .co.uk would definetly sell for more than £1000 though.

    A big difference between £200,000 and £1000!

    If Afghanistan.co.uk has a value of only around £1000, then 0.2 - 0.5% puts the me.uk at £2-£5...

I can't even give away my city.me.uk names, so hope you have more luck than me!

Phil i did notice when scanning Geo domains you owning quite a few of the .me.uk ect ;)
    • Resell domain only £100 max to the right person at the right time
    • Resell with a site and ranking fairly £500+
    • Resell with site ranking and earning cash - £1000+ ?? who knows

You have them so why not stick a 3 page site up on them all with a feed for news about each city.

    Good luck fella!

    Edwins right,

Why would it be high value, its a country with a tld of a different country.

And if you look at what sits on afghanistan co uk

you will see a poorly parked domain. Its worth hardly anything,

And the me uk is woth £0 anyone who buys it needs there head looking into.
