will take about 6 months before I get something solid on there, will just put up something simple for now and throw a few links at it to get it started in Google and start the aging process.

Hey Paul, good deal you got there. I'm surprised ibltd let it go so low in the end. Was weighing it up again just a few days ago. A lesson I guess, that if you're looking at a domain, two or three other people always are as well. Small world

I'll buy it off you for a few K more if you grow weary of it...

Well done paul you got yourself a great bargain, never sell that domain name you can setup the site very quickly by using wordpress blog with affiliate and non-affiliate offers and post one or more comps a day and you be no1 on google for competitions in 6 months.

"competitions" was search for 301,000 in august on google uk

There is a lot more you have to do than just post every day in a wordpress blog to get to no1 on google - especially in 6 months, with a domain that hasn't been developed properly in the past.
