Hi everyone. I'm new here but definitely not new to domains - I'm a long-time active member on DNF and NamePros, known on both as NameTrader.com. It's weird, I had heard of Acorn Domains for a long time but didn't know it was a forum until today. I've been in the biz for over 6 years, doing it full time w/o day job for about 3 years. Have managed to stay pretty active in sales despite the economy and have a portfolio that's actually once again growing...between names I own and co-own with my partner in Domainate, I have nearly 2,000 generic & brandable domains for sale and many more just for parking revenue. We specialize in .com and .org, mostly generic keyword domains, usually either high search or high CPC.
Best and worst domains:
The best I have left is probably Doma.in. One day I'll put a site on it that will remain active - as it is I've launched and relaunched blogs on there over the past few years only to get too busy to keep updating it. Is it for sale? Yes and no...the person I co-own it with and I have discussed it and if we had a really nice offer, we'd take it, but both being in the domain industry plus it being about as good as one could get besides domain(s) or name(s) .gtld or strong cctld, it'd take a lot to pry it from our hands.
The best I've ever owned and sold would either be Dieting.org or Poker.in. The latter I sold for $60k in mid-2007 over 2 years after I bought it, the former for far less but because I decided to take a quick offer literally 1 hour after I bought it from someone who saw me buy it on forum.
The worst...well, I've had countless domains that I've gotten entirely because they had traffic per Alexa, only for them to not have had any traffic. However, I'd say the name that I've had for a long time besides that and why I can't honestly say for sure is CyberCom.org. Decent sounding name, but compared to other .org domains I have, it kind of sticks out like a sore thumb. Cyber is kind of a dying term as well.
