Jesus Christ ! Thats like a comment from a newbie trying to get a free link ? !

I have noticed you do this alot too, why do you feel the need to add anchor text links to every post you can ? it doesn't add any worthwhile value to the post, it just looks like spam and is becoming more and more irritating, especially as 99% of the sites all look the same too !

Please stop as I know I am not the only one who thinks this - I know of at least 3 others who have said the same !

I have to agree.......

The OP said

"Interested to hear views on end user value."

You have made no attempt to respond to the OP's request, instead you have just taken the opportunity to spam the thread.

Poor show IMO.

i would approach companies that have paid advertising on google that sell this item and i work from the top of the search results downward due to the fact they have paid a good ppc to get to the top so would more likely be serious in purchasing a generic.

good luck with your venture....and i think you have a good solid domain in a good sector and was bought for good money ,thing is you would increase your presence if you built a site on it and ranked it,this way you have more bargaining power with buyers because the domain would be ranked and gaining traffic which is always a good thing....

As it’s just purchased on the open market it’s not really a sleeper..? Reseller and end-user wise really depends on previous sellers marketing, have they offered it to manufactures, distributors all the big players etc? If they were not interested then your value is the same…? If not you could try low xx,xxx for a quick flip

It’s tricky if they have approached all the end-users already then you do asking for more it can scare them away… Key would be site listed high to making a good return on your investment..?

I expect you have brought the domains to develop and add value as you have done so in the past.

Looking at the quality of the development you have given previous domains and the sales price they have gone on to sell for £xx,xxx

I would expect the domains would sell for low to mid £xx,xxx without to much problem.

Will they become affiliate sites or will you dropship?

Good luck with developing them.

Personally I like looking at other developers' sites, and I wish others would share more of their urls. So, the reasons I do it are:

- Yes, it might have a little SEO benefit, but that's probably minimal.

- It reminds me that I have the site, and perhaps it could do with a "brush up".

- For every hardened domainer of the old guard reading the post, there are probably a handful of unregistered "newbies" reading the post, and even though they can't say so, they probably find it quite helpful to see how the domain might be put to use.

- People evidently are interested in looking at sites, as so far the site has had 25 visits from this post.

- Sometimes I get offered link exchanges.

- If somebody else has bought a domain, and I have a site on a similar theme, I do feel it is relevant to their request for appraisal. If I have a site, then it's a clear indication that I feel it is a worthwhile subject for a site.

Yes but that doesn't mean everyone shares your thoughts and wishes, and also all your sites look identical so I always think I have seen it before anyway, when you post one of yours - it is like looking at a twin with different colour eyes to the other twin.

- Yes, it might have a little SEO benefit, but that's probably minimal.

If you truly believed they were minimal, you would not be adding anchor text to them in the first place on every link you post

- It reminds me that I have the site, and perhaps it could do with a "brush up".

Brush up on what ? all your sites are the same ?

I have seen that woman's face so many times, I feel like I know her but couldn't think how I knew her !

Was she from a one night stand I had, before I was married ?

Was it that lady who serves me in Mcdonalds but looks different with her baseball cap on ?

Was it someone who I had glanced at in a passing car on the same route every day ?

Does she normally wear a burka, and it is the eyes I recognise, and not the face ?

Was she the star of the "webuyanycar.... dot com" advert ?

but then I realised I have seen her numerous times before :

http://www.computer-monitors.org.uk
http://www.reviewking.co.uk
http://www.etraveldeals.co.uk
http://www.findhotels.me.uk
http://www.bestukbroadband.co.uk
http://www.newmobilephone.net
http://www.cheapcarinsurancerocks.co.uk

Those are from your signature and are identical in look, usability and SEO

- For every hardened domainer of the old guard reading the post, there are probably a handful of unregistered "newbies" reading the post, and even though they can't say so, they probably find it quite helpful to see how the domain might be put to use.

I think even a newbie would have an idea of what products to promote on a domain like leathersofa.co.uk

- People evidently are interested in looking at sites, as so far the site has had 25 visits from this post.

Brilliant ! then you have probably achieved one of the objectives that you set out to do - get some extra traffic and maybe drop some untargetted cookies in the process also. I don't think they are interested, they are probably wondering if this is A N Other of your sites which looks exactly like the last one, except with a different domain name

- Sometimes I get offered link exchanges.

Brilliant again ! But you could post your sites in here http://www.acorndomains.co.uk/search-engine-optimisation.html for that , as after all it is SEO benefits you are trying to achieve

- If somebody else has bought a domain, and I have a site on a similar theme, I do feel it is relevant to their request for appraisal. If I have a site, then it's a clear indication that I feel it is a worthwhile subject for a site.

So if more than one person has a site in the same niche, it MUST be a worthwhile subject ? are you saying every site you have built has always been a success and a worthile subject, as I know mine hasn't

I think anyone who needs reassurance by someone who thinks that by saying "I have one too" will make it a worthwhile purchase for them, shouldn't be involved in this game in the first place. The truth is though, the likes of people like SC2009 are not doing it for that reason. They are looking for honest opinions from people about HIS name - not someone else to say "hey I have one too, so it MUST be good"

Comparing leathersofas.me to leathersofa.co.uk is like comparing Basil Fawlty to Bill Gates "because they look the same age"

This may seem harsh, but the truth usually is. You do offer good advice and do go out of your way to help people in some posts, which I respect. But I am starting to think, that may be to get those extra links to all the sites in your signature, to help with your SEO.

This isn't personal against you, I would say the same to anyone who done this too :)

-----------------------------------------------------

Sorry to SC2009 for taking this off topic. For what it is worth, I think what you paid is around what it is worth undeveloped.

Developed and ranked, it will make a very pretty penny in monthly sales and commisions, and also a nice enduser buy out at some point :)

Think the poster would like valuations.. Maybe ideas (allthough they should having just bought the name know its worth) Rather than anything else..?

As I said, part of the reason I post my sites is that it reminds me about them. For instance, posting leathersofas.me got me thinking about the site and related domains, and I realised leathersofa.me was available, so I've just regged it. The .com sold as follows:

LeatherSofa com $17,100 Feb 09 NameJet 2 11 N N http://LeatherSofa.com DNJournal

So I'd say the .me is definitely worth considerably more than reg fee. So, thanks to this thread, I've just made another good investment. That's the way I work, AcornDomains helps to generate ideas for me, and it's by participating in these threads that helps me run a profitable business.

You are correct in saying a lot of my sites look the same. I have a standard template which lets me create a full site in two to three hours. I would have thought most other serious domainer / developers would be doing the same for efficiency.

I might be posting links, but you're the one clicking on them!

Thank you for noticing that I go out of my way to help others out. I do try to give helpful advice, but I also find this has rewards for me in generating new ideas.

Yes but it's a different girl... LOL

Actually to me it looks like the same girl. lol

Anyway I think you have a cracking domain. I don't know why but I really like the DFS adverts and their website isn't bad either, so my 2p's worth would be whatever you do try to get inspiration from their site.

Are there any kind of affiliate programs for sofas?
