Hi

I have rugbycreditcards.org.uk I have received 2 offers for it, and am wondering what people here think it worth? As you all are FAR more experienced then myself :)

All the other extensions for this name are owned by MBNA.

if developed out i think it would do well in being indexed by SEs so im guessing it could be worthy of offers.. not sure how much, would be interesting to see what others think?

I guesstimate £300 to £400 would be a reasonable sale. See domainprices.co.uk for similar sales.

Rgds

umm

Lee,

obviously I don't know more then you, i am new to this domain selling.. I am more of a "standard" affiliate if there is such a thing :)

But was genuinely curious about why you said no value? As I know I can rank .org.uk domains. And not many people apart from uk ones are going to be interested in ruby credit cards (may in au...)

boxer yes its credit cards with your club picture on it.. Like Football credit Cards...

like:- http://www.mbna.co.uk/choose-credit-card/rugby-credit-cards/

Why no value? Many reasons for me, including, but not limited to, work required to rank, extension, reseller value, end user value, target audience, the fact that all other extensions are taken by a large banking organisation.

I cannot see a value in this at all and as mentioned I wouldnt reg it if it were free.

Tend to agree as said above, also cannot see any sort of revenue from it that would warrant spending any money on it? You’re not likely to be able to sell cards or issue them, anyone that wanted one would go with a big bank most clubs would be tied in with sponsorship how exactly you think someone’s going to make any revenue….

intresting

From an affiliate point of view I am sure money can be made. As MBNA have an affiliate programme, where your paid per application.

About a year ago I did PPC on MBNA Canada and I was paid $65 per successful application. Though have not checked number for UK but they are bound to be similar.

There are other who also offer such cards. A simple comparison site woudl suffice (i would have thought).

My personal feeling is that it is one of those niches where you don't need a lot of traffic to make decent money.

As mentioned above, I am new to selling domains so have not quiet got the "eye".

The fact that MBNA has other extensions I saw as a good thing, and they thought it wise to invest. I am on the forum to learn, and bound to make mistakes along the way.

But I do listen :)

My worry with this one would be the single income stream what if they decide to reject the site from the affiliate program domain becomes worthless.
Also there number one for the term in google anyway so its highly unlikely you could outrank them if all your links are just going to be pointed to to there site

MBNA program is absolute garbage - they're forever closing things with less than 24hrs notice.

I agree with Lee, I wouldn't register this domain right now if it wasn't taken. Its worthless. There is no chance in a million years you get £750 for it. It gets < 10 searches a month worldwide, and none in the UK according to Adwords. And Adwords usually estimates on the high side.

I wouldn't even register the .co.uk today either. I'd be surprised if you could get £100 for the .co.uk, and a tenner for the .org.uk.
