I'm looking to protect one of our brands by securing the '.co.uk' extension of a '.com' we already own. The domain is currently showing 'Renewal required' and has a month and a half until it drops (I believe).

It's a reasonably premium domain - not exact - but a good one. How do I go about securing it?

Certainly trying - domain was setup a number of years ago, the company still exists but no email/telephone (and I've dredged the internet). I'm currently trying snail mail but feel I will need another option.

    1) booking it with as many drop catchers as you can will help if you have no success with direct approach.

    2) engage people to try and secure it for you. Fixed price, bounty etc

How much is it worth to you? Could be interested in assisting depending on the name and if it's worth it ;)

    Best advice... good luck.

Also, monitor the domain with domaintools so you know what happens with it without having to look it up every day.

DomainTools doesn't follow .uk in real time, best to check the whois with nominet/nic daily.

Thanks for all the sound advice - I'll report back in a week or so if I'm unable to contact the owner via mail. :)
