Morning all,

We're looking to sell the domain and site, clubcard.co.uk. I've uploaded a powerpoint presentation for the site which you can download here.

Below are some details from the boss:

Clubcard.co.uk

We are offering for sale either just the domain Clubcard .co.uk for a starting price of £15,000

or

The domain Clubcard.co.uk and existing website. (See PowerPoint) for a starting price of £25,000

The Clubcard operating system was developed to work as a loyalty program alongside Wowcher.co.uk. When we sold wowcher to AN Media (The Daily Mail / Metro group) we did not sell clubcard. We spent over £40,000 developing the site.

Clubcard can be used in a similar fashion to the Taste Card (taste.co.uk) but encompasses every type of online business from retail to hotels.

There is a full admin system for both the users and the site owner.

Clubcard is ranked on the first page of both Google and Bing searches.

Hi guys,

Sean, thanks for your concern regarding other posts. However they are fair comments and i'll try to answer them:

The company in question have previously tried this but a tribunal denied them in previous years on the basis that "clubcard" is too generic. I have spoken to the boss who will object to the proposal through the official process. Given the previous history around this we don't consider it a problem.

Thanks

Mat

Because you're interested or because you want to stir the shit. There's something called a personal message, if you're that interested send him one.

Mods, perhaps you can remove these posts and let the seller get back to trying to sell his domain!

Interested.

I would imagine it gets a pile of traffic. Traffic is worth something if you can use it, it is worthless if you cant.

PPC for coupon / voucher and the like costs a packet, so its easy to do the maths on value. Likewise if you look at the PPT there was paid element for advertisers.

I think it would be a common question from anyone, and yes it can be PM'ed but this is a forum and questions about sales are hardly uncommon.

Good stuff - it certainly predates it by a mile.

Any traffic stats?

Hi guys,

For the benefit of everyone who is interested in the site/domain, a quick call to the IP Office clears this up, and below is a message from the boss:

"I have just spoken to the examiners office at the IPO. He said that they have told Tesco that the name as text is too generic and are waiting for a reply from Tesco. Under normal circumstance the application would have been published months ago in the gazette. If the application is published I can object in any event at that time.

Nick"

Traffic stats:
Unfortunately no unique or page view stats as there's never been any analytics or other tracking tools on the site. However there are some revenue stats for when the site used to be a one-page site with some text and a few affiliate banners to Tesco and a couple other related sites. This information can be provided by PM to interested parties.

Also worth noting as this Domain has been with us since 1997

Thanks

Mat

Interested - I think both myself and Rob are well enough know here for everyone to be aware we don't shit stir :)

Would you be able to put analytics on it Mat ?

Mark

Thing is I dont know who is tighter... me or you :)

Analytics will be added shortly. How long a period did you want it to run before I come back with some stats?

Also did you guys want some revenue data sent by PM? Nick is sending it over to me shortly.

thanks

Mat

Rob on the other hand is famous for stirring the shit so we'll have to agree to disagree there.

It is quite sweet you stalk me :)

I am a dick , a smart cunt and post drivel. That last post was from 2009 as well.

Incidently well done for coming round to my point of view about real names on here, you know I talk sense ;)

If you really think it is 'stirring shit' to ask about Tesco's TM applications on the sale of Clubcard.co.uk then perhaps domain forums are not for you.

Mark, you've been around the forum for quite sometime but haven't contributed much so it would be wrong of me to make any assumptions. Rob on the other hand is famous for stirring the shit so we'll have to agree to disagree there.

That is a very fair point :) ;)

Chuck us over some revenue stats via PM, and we'll talk about the stats there.

Mark

I don't stalk you, like everyone else on here I suffer you!

The reason I pull you up so much is because I know things about you that you don't know I know so shall we really start throwing the shit?

What 'shit' have I thrown at you?

Likewise if you 'know things' why is that reason to pull me up on posts?

The VAT issue with Sedo is raised and documented by many on here. Lets debate that - start a new thread :)

As for the 2009 issue, I called you by your name on a thread and you complained as you used to work under the name 365. Again, I am happy to debate that.

Incidently, Mat has an email earlier as rev stats are for email :)

I think to be fair we should let MatBrummitt continue with his thread, thread appears to have diverted somewhat.

Good luck with the sale - I think it's a great domain (not sure how the website looks because it's currently offline???).

Thanks Pearl Media,

The server(s) appear to be down at the moment and should be taken care of shortly.

Thanks

Mat
