Sold another 'worthless' .org.uk - handbags.org.uk

It was also sold on the domain name basis and not the website that is on there (before anyone says it) :)

Wow - yes another moment to kick myself for seeing good .org.uk available to hand reg years ago and just ignored them!

thanks for sharing - with more sales like this published, does the whole .org.uk market a world of good :)

Congrats on a great sale. The price achieved does not surprise me, it is a very good name. Nice to see a .org.uk sale of this magnitude.

Rgds

I think you must have some kind of gift for selling domains for much more than they are worth, especially .org.uk's. I remember you selling sledges.org.uk for some ridiculous amount. Personally id never base an online shopping website around a .org.uk domain as the extension doesnt really match a business.

A very impressive sale there, domainseller. Long live .org.uk !

Thanks for all your comments :)

Mark that is obviously your personal view and I know for a fact that loads of others share your view also. Each name/ buyer has their own views and reasons and obviously can see the same thing that a small minority of us can and each name is bought on it's own merits and for a particular reason for the buyer.

Eg Sledges was sold to an end user when my site was 2 and his was 1 - they are now reversed with .org.uk being at 1 (as the full SEO hadn't kicked in at point of sale) and knowing the traffic and the money as an affiliate when it was position 2 coupled with his real margins he had an absolute bargain at £25k - I am sure as an end user you can see the extra business this will bring regardless of domain name or extension and you would make your investment back very quickly.

If you can say, did you go looking for the buyer, or did the buyer come to you? Either way, another cracking sale...

No, I remain unconvinced, having seen bargains and properties fail to get more than a passing interest on DL.

But that's DL, open market would be a different matter.

What about templates, how did that fair?

That (sort of) keyword always find a home - It wouldn't surprise me whatever the end-user sales price.
