    Hello,

Recenlty, i acquired sharedownership.org ( 14,800 Local UK exact match / High CPC ) ! ... i think the domain name doesn't worth alot but the website will worth a lot of money after development.

What do you think ? am i right ?

Depends on what website you develop :)

i would either develop into a site listing shared ownership properties and then charge to list the houses (although dont forget its a very competitive niche) or more likely approach several housing associations and offer them the domain.

It is a good name but you have to do a lot of work to get in the public eye. I would agree with Shane that you could approach housing association which there are many. I also think you might need to learn about the market if you are not already.

It has potential but need time - good luck.

As a .ORG. It would make a nice domain for the Legalities of shared ownership.

Thank you shane8960, this is what i'm exactly doing now ...

Thanks Bailey and Snooze, i'll try to contact few companies ... may be i recieve a decent offer.

I never sold a domain before ! and i don't have any idea how you people do this ... i checked few auctions ( reseller prices most of the time ) ... i will invest few hundreds in this website and may be sell it later on Flippa.

Hi hutchbat, I dont wish to discourage you but I have worked within the housing industry for over 10 years and they don't buy to develop. Especially a .org they would prefer partnering, that is why I hinted that a lot for work is involve if you are going to develop it. All the ones I have worked with use their existing website to offer the service or use someone esle's. I will tell you that the right development and partnership and you will be laughing.

I was thinking to develop a custom script that allows people to list their properties for free, then charge them for extra services ( featured lists, ads, ... )

    what do you think ?

I am not sure how familiar you are with the process but the housing organisations have first preference when the home owner wish to sell. Therefore your target market are the RSL (Registerd Social Landlords)/housing organisations. Most of those offering the service already have their process.

Therefore, before you plan how you are going to make the money see how the process work then you will know where in this process you will position the site. Also most people looking for shared ownership normally contact the housing provider because it is different from buyin off the market.
