I'm going to post again how 123-REG are the most useless company to grace the Internet, I know everyone knows that already but I know there is at least one representative for them that does read this forum whom no doubt understands English better then the imbeciles that they place in the support department.

3 .com domains that I paid for renewal on 2012-04-20 I've just discovered where never renewed 2 of which are now in redemption whilst the other is pending deletion.

I only have myself to blame for thinking they could manage a simple task.

You need to double check everything with 123 these days. recently lost a domain i had since 2004, yet have a receipt for from 123-reg.issued the day I paid (admittedly it was only 48 hours from deletion) Sure the admin refunded me in an instant and very apologetic. But I shall contact richard for a refund for the previous 6 years paid to 123-reg also also

Ray, you should be asking them for compensation at the full market value of the domain they lost, not just the reg fees for the last 6 years.

Yep same thing here renewed some .com and .co.uk domains in the same batch, paid + money taken from account (over 15 domains) this was about 9 weeks ago.

Checked the whois and none were renewed....

I spoke to the support at 123-reg and was referred to their T & C page !!!!!!!!!!!

It is apparently my responsibly to check if there doing their job properly after taking payment!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

They have been advertising a lot on TV, so I guess they are probably swamped under by noobies trying to build their first websites

Well I still had one .NET domain with them which expired in March 2012 and I had set to cancel. I've just seen that they've recreated a billing agreement with Paypal, without my approval and charged me for it.

In their renewal emails 123reg say "****We will attempt to auto-renew your domain if you have chosen to store your credit card details in your profile.****". I didn't have credit card details with them, which is why they had a Billing Agreement with me in Paypal, but this was cancelled on Paypal some time ago.

Surely creating a new Billing Agreement on Paypal without my approval is just plain wrong?

If you paid with PayPal that's when they do it, so you need to cancel it every time, I had about 10 agreements setup due to their system being ineffective

Seems like they have yet to fix their systems. Unfortunately there are other registrars that are plagued with that kind of nasty bugs too.

Years ago I was telling people to pull out from registerfly when I noticed the gaping holes in their system, and that was long before the meltown. Bugs = security issues.
Don't take a chance with your valuable domains people.

Remember, these are the main muppets that Nominet are thinking of handing over control of .uk domain expiry/renewals to!!

    Scary!

Join Nominet and do it yourself, the cost is very low in real terms, for other domains, get an enom / resellerclub reseller account then you only have yourself to blame if something is not renewed

no idea for enom, most tld resellers don't charge for the transfer, but you do have to renew for at least a year as part of the transfer, so I'd guess enom are also a 1 year renewal per domain.

Enom have different prices depending on where you have got your account from. Resellers can create prices and the price bracketing used to be based on the amount you deposit.

Name cheap use enom or are enom and they charge the 1 year fee

    power to the people :p

    Hello Everyone,

As some of here may know, I work here at 123-reg. I would like to apologise to anyone here who has experienced any difficulty, and am keen to look into any issues that you all have and find resolutions.

I can see from reading this thread that there are several people who currently have renewal issues or concerns. I would like to offer to look into each of these for you and work to resolve on a case by case basis. If you would like me to investigate, please supply a domain name or support ticket ID by PM, and I will get in touch with you further to look to resolve.

    Regards,

    Nerys

I have not dealt with 1and1 but if they are any worse than 123-Reg I truly feel for you. 123-Reg are a shambolic company.

webfusion I thought you was not allowed to charge for something if you did then not fulfill that agreement.

IE if I buy something from Jessops say and it's not in stock they charge me when it's in stock.

When I buy something from you, you take my money bank it and then decide if you can bother to remember to action it when the expiry date comes nearer. Why do you take my money in the first place ??
