I cannot believe that is true?!.

There's a story behind x.co.uk because it was, once, the only single letter .co.uk domain name registered (a pre nom) and it belonged to SCO. The part of SCO that owned it was spun off into another company named Tarantella and I wrote to someone there who in turn put me onto someone much higher up over in their USA office. I eventually got him on the telephone, when he happened to be visiting London, and he told me I could have the domain name. However Nominet wouldn't transfer it to me. This was before all the pre nom drops.

In terms of x.uk being worth anything like £10m, unless someone has a seriously good plan for the domain name it's hype. :)

Please start separate threads for any discussions! I expect there will be hundreds (thousands?) of news reports within a day or so, so this thread will become totally unmanageable if it strays beyond a simple list of links. Thanks!

Oh yes, sorry, back on subject...

Couldn't you edit your first post to add more article links and let discussions below?

If not no worries and a mod can remove my post(s)

I think it will hit the news later today - probably doing interviews with Nom, Stephen Fry, obtaining feedback from businesses, etc.

Or maybe not! Quite unbelievable that the BBC haven't covered this.

Indeed. I am a little shocked they haven't to be honest.

Perhaps we will get some coverage over the coming days.

Still nothing from the BBC? Even the consultations had some coverage.

I feel like not paying my TV licence.

Problem with any of the news channels covering it is if they're not currently planning to migrate to the new extensions, for whatever reason, they'd look a bit odd and immediately out of touch.
