Do you think that phpld and esyndicat and some of the others have something to be to concerned about now there is finally a directory script out there that has far better features, is much more friendly and not smarty reliant? I've tried the phpLynx script and it is easily the best to come out for a hell of a long time. How the hell they can afford to give such a top end script free beats me.

intresting but all of the hard coded links are broken for example
sqldatabases.html

Piet - Is this your own script? If it is why not just tell us, otherwise it would appear to be a spam post....

I own the script, and don't quite understand your point here? There are no broken links, if a link or category doesn't exist then it won't show, you typed in a non existent url which would take you to a custom 404 error page.

I looked at the site in question that doesn't have a sqldatabases.html link or category hence the reason it went to a default page 'not found'.

For all 'hardcoded' fans, you can make the results offer .html or .php, you just call it from an include from within the tpl.html file.

Hope this helps.

Piet is a well respected member of the Cantufind Network, his enthusiasm should be applauded as the script he promotes is free and for the masses. In my 15 years on this whacky world of the web spamming is only done when you intend to gain from something via mass solicitation!

Give Piet a break the guy is one of the genuine ones on here, not full of himself like lots.

Cool forum by the way, been a victim of domain name hi-jacking and also an iffy Wipo decision so it will be enjoyable reading here.

Thanks BFTUK

As already said all the static links are broken ie. those that are not part of the directory.

EG. Directory Script PhPLynx

Bottom right, red text referring to sqldatabase

Piet was talking about the script not about the template for the site which is under development!! The designers are playing with all the dead links as we speak. Crossed wires there, perhaps you should have been more clear and pointed to the domain.

Look at the script at PhpLynx Directory :: Home admin-admin, that was what piet was mentioning.

The sql databases would not be posted there for non user of the script though Grant, that would be letting others take them and run, it will be a linkback to a secure area where members can get them.

Sorry for the confusion there.

Cheers.
