What's his job and position, his interests, his contacts and his background? Is he just an employee or an elected busybody? What industry does he favour?

    Cheers

Why would you want to contact me? I don't work for Nominet, or even in the field of domain names now.

Because as with any illness being diagnosed, I like a second opinion.

Would you be interested in commenting? even if you would be agreeing with the decision. Although I realise you may not wish to comment on your successor's verdicts even if you were to make the same or similar call as they have.

So far Nominet haven't commented perhaps you'd be able to explain their reasoning and what the tipping point was and if there was any reasoning for the harsh response, rules broken, how they may be interpreted, if they're clear cut etc. but like I said, I understand if you can't, are unable to or simply don't wish to.

    Cheers

I have no idea what has happened that has upset you. I don't work for Nominet, so I don't have any special knowledge about what they are doing. Even if you tell me, I sincerely doubt I'd want, or be in a position, to comment.

I don't know the new lawyer. Just because he has chosen to do something that I didn't I wouldn't take that as being "harsh" or a break from the past - it may well have been something that I had been planning to do for ages and just hadn't got around to doing. I didn't leave a totally clean desk, and was not always the most popular person with the readers of this forum myself...

Rather than get irate about it, I suggest that you think calmly about whatever it is that he has said. He's doubtless said it for a reason and got a point - Nominet isn't vindictive or unfair by nature. If you think that Nominet's policy is wrong, talk to the PAB. If you think the implementation is wrong, write to a director. If you want to get your own legal advice, then of course you can. I can't provide it, though, and hoping that I will come out and take issue with my successor is a non-starter, really.

Ed, I'm not hoping you do anything, why do people always presume vengence, you know the lay of the land that was all, I'm not asking you to dig his grand-mother up. And I'm not irate, I've been constructive. Geez, I'll just say prayers next time, have a goodun.

    Cheers
