Has anyone sold a car on eBay, or know someone who has. I've got an S8 I want to change and the dealers don't want to give me what its worth as they can't move it on as easily. eBay might be a good way to get a buyer but I'm slightly nervous.

Ive sold a couple.. what you nervous of ?

is it an audi s8?

put it on autometrix.co.uk, they are the publishers of audi driver magazine

the car would be advertised to a specialist audience

i've sold (and bought) a couple. Never really get the true value as it's a bargain hunters paradise.

Try pistonheads.co.uk , it's free and well visited by 'petrolheads'.

You want to put it on Edition38 also.

As for ebay I sold my 5 Series on there, you do get a nice amount of people trying to swap dodgy cars with you etc. Just keep an eye on their feedback and be cautious.

The best thing to do is make a Classifieds add instead of an auction. This way its like listing it in auto trader.

I had someone email me and come pay for my car in cash. Perfect!

Im a Powerseller on ebay so if you need any help dont hesitate to pm me.

Sold two classics - Wolsey and a Jensen Healey.

As above, just keep an eye on the bidders and refuse swaps :)

Cheers,
rob.

I tried selling a Honda civic type R (06 model) and never got to my reserve, first time i tried though, but i would say try autotrader.co.uk.

Its always been a waste of my time advertising cars on Ebay - unless they are worth less than a grand - as you wont get anywhere near its true value.

Good sale

Hi

I sold my car only last month and was well pleased with the price ,in all it was a good experience.

Had loads of people contact me regarding taking it off early, agreed with one guy early on to take it off for £10250 but he didn’t come through with deposit, which turned out ok because it made 11k, ha his loss.

If you do go that way probably worth mentioning you wont take it off. early in the advert.

Not wanting to teach you how to suck eggs but start it reasonable with no reserve. In the end i had 103 watchers.

Regards

Pete

I sold an old VW camper van and got top dollar for it, infact it far exceeded the price i would have advertised it for privately!

Set a reserve if you are really worried. I started my camper at 99p with no reserve....

Ah,

Good old VW scene tax. People will pay the earth if they want it.

Again the best thing to do if you are worried about the sale price put it down as a classified auction instead, its the same price but the listing is about twice aslong so you get your moneys worth!

I've sold 2 cars on ebay, nice and easy...

Good for local sales

I Listed my van on a classified ebay ad, put my phone number on the ad and sold it within an hour to someone down the street. Small world innit.

I sold a car on EBAY a couple of years ago. I had a great experience. You can set your reserve in the beginning, but start the bidding really low to generate interest. I noticed cars that start at a normal price don't get many bids.

The guy who bought the car was awesome. he flew into Hawaii to get the car. No problems.

Good luck.
