I received an email from someone in Hong Kong who says that their client in the UK is looking to register domain names with the keywords that I registered my name with.

Dear CEO/Manager,

We are a domain name registration center in Hongkong, mainly dealing with domain name registration and internet intellectual property rights protection. On October.23,2009 we received a formal application from a local company of your country who is applying to register some domain names with the keyword “keywordshere” and register it as their keyword. After investigation,we find that you are the original user of the keyword. As this refers to your company name or trade mark, and in order to avoid the confusion and dispute on the internet, we inform you and would like to know your ideas, if you agree about this issue, we will finish the third company's registration, If you don't agree the third company to register, please inform me.looking forward to your reply.thanks for your understanding and cooperation.

AS im still very new to all this what the hell are they asking me? Can I reply and just say buy it from me?

Any help much appreciated.

don't complicate matters and think about the "shoulda's" and "coulda's,"what-if's" afterward by not doing anything.

at least have some decency to reply, "I don't agree" if you don't. simple as that. now if you won't respond to succeeding correspondence, that is in itself a message.

If I was daft enough to reply, it would be with words that I wouldn't post here. Hit the 'mark as spam' button and forget it.

If anyone was daft enough to reply, then they'd be validating that their email address was live and monitored, so could then expect to get lots of email from lots of new friends afterwards offering to sell them Viagra, Cialis RX, Watches, Slimming Pills, MILF Porn.... ;)

MILF porn???, hmmmmm, forward that email on to me :lol::lol:

I received exactly the same email for the keyword 'SKATE'. I received it through a contact form, not directly via my email address. If I replied my inbox would probably be full of even more crap now!

in that sense, don't reply. yeah, it's apparently a scam. consider my first advice null and void. :D
