My concern is the BBC. They ultimately face the largest bill (I think) from the change, if there was one.

I've always thought that .co.uk was safe if the BBC continued to use it - from the most traffic'd news site to the obvious mention a hundred times a day, to my mum understanding what it is - the BBC have been a great ambassador for the .co.uk brand, after all them could have gone .com a few years ago.

Just wondered what people's thoughts were on if they would move to the new extension?

BBC will buy up the .uk without a second thought, after all its us, the taxpayers, who will foot the bill

BBC will easily get it, just like most other .CO.UK owners which deserve it..

if you are abroad, BBC markets itself as bbc.com but I agree it has added substantial value to the .co.uk brand in the UK.

Just came across this
http://www.bbc.com/news/technology-18428324
after reading a page on nominet about the domain business.
Looks like they will be going for .bbc
Would be interesting to see if these new gtlds will be restricted from selling each other terms. I know .tel was held back back Icann from allowing .pro, biz com etc.
