Good price - but surprised too.

I was going to bid, but I know what 'easy' group are like when they choose to flex their IP muscles.

Given they already run easymoney, this just seemed a bit too much of a risk beyond a few hundred pounds.

Would agree with this. I didn't bid for that reason. Which is wrong really as effectively "Easy Group" are bullying people without having the relevant TMs.

thats the reason i thought it would fetch much more, i should think ?

congratulations to the buyer

I think it's a very brandable name but the registered TM put me off bidding as it would be almost impossible to use the name outside of class 36.

The TM is is up for renewal in a few months, I believe the previous registrant was the same as the TM holder, so with a bit of luck, they won't renew the TM either.

True - but anyone taking this on now could be required to then prove it is not trying to use the IP rights and 'value' of the "easy" brand... this was my worry.

The London Scottish Bank filed the TM Trade Mark 2288264 on 15 Dec 2001 and was granted in 2003.

Arguably before the strength of the 'easy' group brand became mainstream and more of an IP issue...

Just too risky for my liking... if it had been loans.co.uk and the same situation then the end would have justified the means when you weigh up Risk/Costs Vs reward.

Perfectly generic! I wouldnt worry about TM on this domain!

I agree. I'm not enamoured with reverse hijackers at the moment. Just fighting a stupid claim by a huge media conglomerate. Thanks for the tip a while back about Adlex Sean ;)

No probs mate, Adlex is truely remarkable!

It really pisses me off when i hear about these giant companies bullying there way through, Adlex soons squares them up :)

"In his submissions Mr Harrison requests costs off the scale owing to the vague nature
of the grounds of opposition and of the opponent’s evidence. I experienced problems
with much of the exhibited material as easyGroup in lengthy pieces had not highlighted
the relevant parts. Some of the evidence was illegible owing to poor photocopying. Parts
of it were not in English but no translation

Maybe the news autoposting script needs to be adjusted to only post completed sales post-transfer?
Definitely, you can't claim a "sold domain" based on an auction ending.

I'm using the DL RSS feed, how else could I automate it?
