Hello, I'm David from Weald Domains.

Thanks for all the useful material here.

    Best : HadriansWall.com or ThisOne.co.uk

Worst : rubbish, subsequently-dropped ridiculously long ones about the best video poker games in town dot com etc

    Regards,
    David

    Hi David,

Welcome to the forums! About how many domains do you own? Do you get them to resell, hold, or develop?

    Hi David,

I worked in Sevenoaks for around 9 years... are you far from there?
I wonder how many from Kent on here?

    Thanks Domainate,

A little over a thousand, mainly fairly recent, mainly co.uk.

Resell, hold or develop ? A good question, and probably one to revisit when they come up for renewal :) My initial focus has been acquiring a set of solid, straightforward names giving me broad coverage of a range of areas - the "real estate". Now it's a case of prioritising which ones to develop first. In general, I will aim for clusters of related sites where I can get reuse benefits both for research and coding. That way I can minimise workload with a common foundation onto which to add individual chunks of unique content. Nice theory, let's see how it works out.

At the same time, I'm always willing to listen to unsolicited approaches, and in the future I may well become more proactive at selling, probably mainly with clusters of related names.

Thanks WestHamFan - hope you have more success with them than I did : it wouldn't be difficult :)

    Hi Philip,

I'm a bit further out - Tonbridge. Yes, it would be interesting to know. I see there's a Domain Events forum which has occasional bursts of activity and would probably be a good place to get a feel for where people are.
