Used to love Hostgator, but this is happening a bit too much recently. Anyone else?

My sites on HostGator appear to be working normally at my end.

We sincerely apologize for the inconvenience as we are experiencing network issues that are affecting a subset of customers on our platform. Our Network Operations team is currently working on the issue.

Guess I'm one of the unlucky ones. Just waited in line for 30 mins and their chat box crashed!

I have generally been really happy with them in the past. Just this has happened a few times this year.

Sites we're down for a few hours. Never made it through chat.

It would be so much trouble to change... And who know the effect on Seo/traffic...

Fingers crossed it doesn't happen again this year.

As someone who has been with hostgator for years now, it's really sad to see a good host have a turn for the worst.
I'm still using them at the moment but must change soon. If anything I think it'll get worse :(

Changing is a piece of cake and can be done with almost no downtime. There will be no noticeable effect on SEO.

The founder of HG, Brent, is a friend of mine. He did an excellent job of build a great hosting company. But the time came for him to want out and EIG bought it. You only need to check the reviews of some of their other brands to get an idea of the type of operation they run.

I have 5 accounts with HG, all shared, each with many websites on each... what worries me the most about the switch would be setting up the databases again and changing the config details.

Some of my sites have a wiki and wordpress and forum... so 3 sets of DBs for these sites... really a big time investment to do the full move away at the moment.

That's good to hear about SEO though. I just need a 25th hour in each day.

I sent you a PM about this.

Your joking. I just started using HG. Trust me to jump on the bandwagon late again!
