Hey guys,

I had signed up to checkrate for one year (after the guy - Matt, refusing to take no for an answer, i must have said no 5-6 times already before i basically said yes to shut him up!)

I thought i was signing up on a one year contract and then they would ring and try to get me to sign for another year.

He says the T and C form i had to tick when downloading the checkrate seal says point number 9 says the following:

To terminate your Agreement with Checkrate you must provide Checkrate with written notice, that you do not wish your agreement to be renewed, at least 30 days before the date on which the agreement is due to end.

Such notice must be served by either recorded first class post to the registered address of Checkrate (*), or by, Electronic Mail to [email protected]

Upon receipt of the written notice Checkrate will provided you with a unique Advanced Termination Reference Number (ATRN) via the secure email address nominated by you to Checkrate for the administration of your account.
No such notice will be deemed valid, until such time as you have received your unique (ATRN) from Checkrate.

Failing this your agreement will be renewed automatically for a further 12 Months.
All ‘Discounted Products’ and ‘Introductory Offers’ will be charged at their normal standard price.
‘Debt Score’ products will be charged at the same rate per annum.
For all companyReports from our data partners prices will fluctuate to reflect their standard charges.inc:
Limited Company reports
Non Limited Company reports
Image Accounts
Performance Report

Now i had no idea when the renewal date was, the first i heard about it was him ringing me up asking for money in is slimey way and me saying not a chance were renewing and he said tough luck basically look at this. My argument was i signed up for one year and i do remember saying we would try it for one year and review at the end.

Do i have a leg to stand on or will i have to pay these cowboys. I know a lot of companies use checkrate.

If i do have to pay, i will be purchasing checkratereview.com via the seychelles and giving an honest opinion of how they work.
