Hi everyone,

I've owned OnlineBilling.co.uk since September 2002, and
I'm now thinking of selling.

What sort of value would you put on the domain name?

I've got a figure in mind, but I'd appreciate some professional
feedback first.

Thanks in advance, Tony

Who do you envisage the best end user would be? I'm thinking a software house or payment processor. The question is how much of a marketing budget they have/need for active marketing.

Hi,

Thank you for your comments.

I don't think there is a 'best end user' for this
domain, but a payment processor would fit
well with it.

In fact, any company that sells on the internet,
including membership sites, would benefit from
developing the domain name.

Thanks, Tony

Think it would only ever get interest from an end-user and to me it’s not a term that naturally springs to mind for software or payment processing …? To generate money the generic term alone as all the other tld and cctlds that our regged have nothing done with them doesn’t bode well.

As you have had it 8 years the amount of offers and traffic would help indicate its commercial interest. End user pricing can always be tricky they may be about to launch a brand, product, service etc which would see the term and value increase dramatically (don’t see it in this particular case) low xxxx (and could be hard to shift ) but end user can always be a surprise...?

The big one here is online invoicing, this is an enormous market, i set up a company that specialised in timesheet and invoicing on line and it is certainly a strong market as companies look to reduce manual intervention, depends on what you are looking to do, if you want to sell to the enduser i see the start price around £7,000 and look to sell for £4,000 to £5,000. This is not a quick sale and would take a lot of research and time. If you wanted to move it quickly i am sure you could get £1,500 to £3,500 and other than that no doubt some one on the forum may have an interest but we never pay end prices;-)

You're possibly right, insofar that an end-user may well show the most interest. Let's see what the next few days bring...

Online invoicing is definitely the right type of business
for this domain, and one that is likely to keep on growing.

Thanks for your comments, Tony

Hi,

Thanks for your observation and experience.

I really do appreciate all of the comments so far, and
would love to hear from other professionals as well.

What's going on with this topic?
He's sent me a PM as well. Spammer?

Also received spam.

Hi, I sent you a message as I noticed, through your feedback,
that you appear to be a knowledgeable person in buying and
selling domain names.

I would value your opinion, and I'm sorry if I gave you the
wrong impression.

Thanks, Tony

After Dom Collects valuation, I dont think there is any need to look for any more ideas, sell it to him for half price 2k and let him sell it for 4k as he suggests, both win.

The only user I see who would have any interest in it would be an individual who was about to launch their own company specialising in the market that takes companies online with their billing.

The chances of finding that end user compared to the costs it would take, make it a no brainer for me, its not worth it.

Plus the way a company like this would trade, any invented brand name would suffice.

Best of luck

You may be right Caz, but it could also appeal to an existing company
in this market already. We'll see...

I've been talking to YummyNames (a division of Tucows), and
interestingly, they're asking $40,000 for OnlineBilling.com, which
they own. Gets more interesting by the day...
