Just to highlight a success ....I bought a £50 domain on DL this week, the next day I offered to 1 end user and sold it for 1700. I offered it with exclusivity until next Monday at which point I would have offered it to about 5 companies in that industry.

Nice one admin, care to share your initial approach email which got a response ?
OK I used to do business with the company so it wasnt a cold contact, but I didnt give any speel about the domain, just the domain and a price.

Very nice one indeed. Lets not Let the original DL seller suffer though. With DL achieving about 30 sales a week (or less) Shouldn't be hard to pick out of last weeks £50 sales

It is good for business. More action and less debate can deliver decent returns - prehaps others will see the potential and increase the bidding on DL.

Lets not Let the original DL seller suffer though.

Why should that matter, if someone chooses to sell on Domainlore, they do so acknowledging the likelihood is it will be bought by a domainer to resell for a larger amount. Just the name of the game.

Congrats to Steve, great result, you clearly targetted a company you knew may be interested and had connections with, and it worked out, well done.

As this sale exemplifies, selling to end users (via outbound or, even better, inbound) is without a doubt where the serious revenue lies.

I do outbound most days whilst waiting for serious inbound offers/enquiries.
It is a model that produces great results - but it does require discipline and patience.

Nice, last week I made a £7k sale for a domain acquired for low £xxx in 2011 :)
