Great price (just over £43,000). Did anyone on here used to own this one? (Think Nigel has the singular not sure if he had the plural too).

Looking at the registrant I'm guessing they are related to the guy who owns most of the best "_____ Insurance.org.uk".

Not sure if quoting registrant names is frowned upon or not, but the person who owns your old HomeInsurance.org.uk domain owns other good keywords too (e.g. car and life). :)

Yep see my post #3 :)

Wonder how much Scott's domain on DomainLore will end up selling for? Could be a bargain for this same buyer if nobody else with an equally big budget creates a bidding war for it.

I'm a little surprised Scott is selling tbh as he has been building a portfolio of these names and developing then out. Maybe he is happy with just the plural

I was the bidder who pulled the DL (lifeinsurancequote) price up, otherwise it would have been sold a lot cheaper.

Scott's auction on DL should be connected at least a little to the above auction.

I guess that Quade guy will be here for that auction too. But it takes at least two to move an auction price (I have not decided yet where I'll be participating).

I could be wrong but I think those names previously belonged to another forum member.

The Quade family obviously have their buying boots on :D

Pretty sure it was Paul that used to own them so probably flipped them on as a set.

Could this be the £100,000 sale which Rob mentioned about on Twitter last year? It's an educated guess, but I can't think of many other domains which could reach that price level in .org.uk format.

    I think it was Paul.
That would be make sense. I remember reading Rob's tweet but never did find out what the names were!

    hmmmmm

Hmmm makes me think maybe i sold the good ones a little early

    HomeInsurance.org.uk CheapCarInsurance.org.uk Remortgage.org.uk

HomeInsuranceQuote.org.uk but hey there plenty more fish in the sea

    Hence the development route .

But i do like this game of trying to predict the out come the price

anyone fancy a sweepstake on it :)

Its one of those it looks good but no exacts really 1,600

ok so how do you value it yes there is the fact that home insurance is in

the name but thats a bit of a huge task for anyone

to honest i wish i went halves or thirds with someone for

CarInsuranceQuotes.co.uk gone direct and maybe had the chance of it @

    £60,000- 63,000

what would the costs be of gettting it developed and marketing costs for

2yrs or how ever long it would take there .

And what would be the rewards when there ????

anyone know ???? frank you will have a idea

I think thats hit the nail on the head really - two years of marketing and development before the site ranks and you've already spent $70k.

Its always a balance - yes domains do give you a boost in the serps (but that may be going away) and perhaps also psychologically, but if you have $70,000 in your marketing budget its entirely possible you could achieve the same results by investing it into a solid marketing campaign using lots of PR to generate some fantastic links.

Thing is that it is not the exacts but the micro targetted traffic they bring, i e people looking for quotes, ready to fill out forms etc.

Exacts must be one of the biggest red herrings around

I think it's overpriced by a country mile. The Quades must be awash in cash. Just my 2p.

I am sure PDE can comment :)

Had a couple of wind up merchants doubting info at the time. Will send them a hat to eat.
