What's the site? The usual diagnostic is that the content is poor and keyword stuffed, or sites linking to it have been penalised (probably for the same reason). If you think it's neither of the above, Google will usually investigate I believe.

Would need to know the site and more details such as where you have lost traffic to give you any specific help, otherwise would just be guessing.

Not received a message in your webmaster tools?.

Thanks guys just checked and the site is taking for ever to load/ not loading...
I've also noticed 8 messages saying "Googlebot can't access your site" from various dates.

I take it this will effect which page my site is placed on?

Ill need to contact the hosts.

Yep, sounds certainly like it could be the problem.

Hopefully once you get it fixed and a little bit of time goes by it will pop back up.

Thanks guys. I must say my host responded super quickly, it seems like it might be a Wordpress plugin issue that's making it time out. I'll hopefully get it fixed and up again soon.

I had a link to a tool that spots glaring SEO errors, I'll have to try and find it again. I used to run it once a month on my sites and it picked up a few things. Like someone else mentioned, most problems are highlighted in GW

No it doesn't seem to have. I wasn't relying on it very heavily anyway. I think I just used it for some page s to add descriptions and keywords.

Unless you want Google to crawl that folder, which I dont think you really need, use your robots.txt file to exclude it. That will eliminate the error over time.
