Looking for as advice or best practices how targeting the US.

Do’s and Dont’s,hosting and content strategy.

Smaller site - just write content - Google wants to match users to a query, if it's good content it'll rank everywhere.

Medium site - cdn/perhaps hosting nearer the location if you can't serve content off of a cdn. Use US specific terminology and keyword research tools.

Large site - hreflang, specific domains/paths for each location, truly localised content (best x in y) or (how to do x region specific element).

Small things such as language/currency go a good amount of the way for Google to understand the target audience.

Hi Paul,

You are a really technical guy, most shared hosting probably will not work for you, and you will be able to put in use this info:

there is a dc in Kansas, USA that offers really great prices to older generation dedicated servers.. and, I am talking about $20, $25 and $30 per server with at least 4 cores and 16Gb of ram + 1gbps line.

And, most servers over $20 come with 5 ipv4 addresses. So far, so good :)

Cons: you can't install your ubuntu, centos or other on these > you would need to open a support ticket. And, they do 1 free OS setup per month.

check these out: https://www.nocix.net/dedicated/

I'm playing with them to see what is what - so far all good.

note: don't get hooked on 'instant setup' :) .. order Monday - Friday and wait for them to set it up for you.

if you ever get tempted to go for Contabo vpss > be aware, ALL their IPs are blacklisted and 1/2+ of your emails will not get delivered.

maybe this helps :)

Best wishes,
Helmuts

p.s. if you like the 20i that we offer, I could open the 20i US offer at HostMaria for you (isn't being offered at the moment).

Similar price points to the above just some varied deals: https://www.wholesaleinternet.net/dedicated/ https://www.wholesaleinternet.net/custom_dedicated/

Looks to have pretty much the same product ranges - also out of Kansas.

yes, the offer looks quite similar, though the building is different.

when doing my background check, the location seemed to match to a dc exterior:

I can get US hosting on 20i.com myself for £19.99 a month also ;)

19.99 is for resellers.. just to open the position.. once you grow larger > the price will increase..

20i's hosting should be bought from resellers not them directly. and resellers differ as well (experience, ability to keep doors open and additional features they subscribe to include these in the hosting packages) :)

anyway, all the best :)
