Well there is no interest from catchers because the catchers are booked by domainers who don't see the value ! and incidentally the dropped ones aren't going to be nearly as valuable as those that are aged but still I believe these will be a good bet for those that wish to pick them up. The thing is I think there are different types of domainers but it is the exact match builders that have led the way in which the industry thinks it seems

We haven't seen end user activity properly yet by any stretch of the imagination I don't think and opinions may mean nothing to an end user but well constructed argument and solid information on development and branding potential etc will mean a lot

end users don't come to acorndomains or any forum. They generally only want one domain - not a 'choice of bargain basements'. Understand your market.

This is where I sense domainers giving up! ... the demand has just not started ...but you should not lose sight of what are premium names. It has taken a long long time but I for one certainly believe that the marketing world will wake up to domains and hopefully quite soon and it is the premium suffixes that will be the winners! This new gTLD thing will not work in my opinion. It is a marketing catastrophe waiting to happen and as a result it is set to act as the catalyst that opens up the market. That is why domainers should fill their boots now with the valuable domains but value needs to be looked at properly as from a development perspective things like age are key value indicators

This is a UK forum and we are discussing .co.uk. As people said in the 1980s ( I think), "get with the program". .com's will go from strength to strength... IMO.

Fresh reg does not carry the power in terms of development that is why aged domains are valuable - ask any SEO specialist worth their salt! You are right about "search potential" in some respects but it is the domainers ( I generalise) take on search potential that is the thing I think is fundamentally wrong in the way that domainers look at domain value.

    Hoping you'r inkling is right!

I don't believe an undeveloped, aged domain actually brings about that much in the way of SEO benefits. That's another debate for another day though :)

Just before you back up the age = seo beneficial argument, I agree it is a factor and is something I look for in a domain that I'm going to develop. I just think you overestimate its value and besides, the average buyer knows nothing about SEO and isn't interested in being educated.

    thanks everyone for your replies!

these few were registered quite late so i'm not expecting them to be worth much but worth *something* .....

ok the first poster was using the google keyword tool for the search numbers, which seem to give some idea of value... but i would say those numbers never seem to be accurate, do others agree they are underestimated/inaccurate?

also, what happened to "mydomains" post with the xxx values? as ballpark figures would be nice, but i understand this is really hard to do....
