If I have the org.uk domain, and the competitor has the co.uk domain. Whats the situation here? Would he be entitled to register the .UK domain before me?

If the .co.uk was still registered ON the cutoff date (to be precise, if it was still registered at 23:59 on 28 October 2013) then it has the rights to the .uk and you can NEVER get the rights to the .uk.

If the .co.uk wasn't registered at 23:59 on 28 October 2013 but the .org.uk was, you have the right to the .uk

The easiest way to check is to type the .uk you're interested in into the Nominet whois tool and it will tell you exactly who has the right.
http://www.nominet.org.uk/uk-domain-names/about-domain-names/domain-lookup-whois/whois-tool

REMEMBER: a .org.uk can NEVER gain the right to a .uk, it can only lose it under certain circumstances if it originally had the right. So if your .org.uk doesn't show up as having the right now, there's no combination of circumstances in which it will acquire the right in future.

Thanks, appreciate your help.
