Hi, I am currently setting up my website DoMyShopping(.com) Its going to be a site that list's companies that offer same day delivery. I need some customisations done. I would like each business listed to have there own shop page, where they can list there products, and the user can pay through my website. I would then send this money to the business, minus my commission, and they will deliver the goods.

Anybody here who could do this? Please let me know some quotes if so

Thanks

Can't help with the web design sorry but can I just pick up on a point you made. Are you suggesting that a customer buys the product from you; you then proceed to place that order with the respective company for delivery to the customer? If so, that would be a nightmare to manage, but don't forget that the customers legal entitlement would then be with you, so for example faulty goods, effectively making you liable and a middle man in queries and returns. In addition, some retailers may not allow delivery of physical goods to anywhere but the billing address, i.e. you, especially on expensive same day services.

Sorry if I've misunderstood, or you didn't want a critique, but that approach seems like a whole lot of mess to deal with day to day.

Hi, thanks for your reply, I want a system kind of like justeat.co.uk but my site will be for gifts and groceries.

This kind of structure will work to a certain extent with takeaway food, where returns/refunds are limited, but I suspect you'd be in for a world of pain processing payments on behalf of customers for items you then source from third parties. I assume you have experience in this type of structured sector, otherwise I'd strongly suggest another solution.

sounds very much like dropshipping to me but at a very granular level that agreed could get messy if using multiple suppliers cos some items aren't available in a single store

It's kind of like drop-shipping in reverse!

If your site is wordpress based you could probably setup something with Woocommerce with the addition of Product vendors or multi paypal products.

http://codecanyon.net/item/woocommerce-custom-paypal/10033428

http://www.woothemes.com/products/product-vendors/

This would allow you to setup a shop or shops with products under a certain vendors listings.

If it was me instead of taking a commission as the transaction happened i would probably let the vendors make the sales, set their own pricing etc like they could through a normal store............but pre-negotiate customised commission terms with all vendors. As admin you would have all sales records of which you could invoice the vendors for your commission at the end of each month.

It might seem like a good idea to automate taking your cut but i think it will be less hassle for you long term to allow vendors to process the payments and products them selves.

Thanks for the replies people, think this idea going back on the shelf for now though :(
