It was about a guy running a hosting business from his student flat, not really worth watching to be honest. It about 20 minutes into Tuesday's stream on the BBC Working Lunch web site.

    lol

The piece they did at least said that he was only making a "small profit" and the guy himself acknowledged he wasn't an internet millionaire. I can't see what positive effect this would have for him as it exposed his company as being run from a dingy student flat (complete with dirty dishes) by him and his mate who kept saying it was a "hobby". Not sure their alleged 1000 customer would take kindly to their web sites being refereed to as a hobby.

Anyway fair play to him, he may be a tax dodging student but at least he's doing something to pay the bills himself.

If this was an example of a valid internet entrepreneurship (sic!) then it doesn't look good for the rest of us, and really isn't a good example. Surely a reputable program like that - which sparks off interest in a lot of areas, could have researched the area a bit better than that.

Maybe a program on the new internet arenas of domaining and eshops.

True, good point, but I bet they didn't go on national TV broadcasting the fact they were operating from home ;-)

Please don't take it that I am slagging this guy off, far from it I applaud his entrepeneurship when all those around him are getting hammered and racking up huge student loans.

After all any publicity is good publicity I'm just not too sure on what this guy expects to get out of showing his potential customers that their site is hosted next to a pile of dirty dishes.
