Sad Tale of a Dropped Domain

So I was looking at the drop list last night, and spotted a name I recognised. Being a thoughtful person, I regged it rapidly.

I tried to ring up the "owner" this morning with the intention of giving it back (after extracting some urine), but got number unobtainable.

Then, a little web-digging turned up this sad tale of an accident -

Any suggestions or offers of help are welcome (everybody knows I can't build sites for toffee. and Baby John has trouble opening email).

 

Jeez that is pretty bad, not sure what to do with the name but I hope he makes a decent enough recovery and those people get what is coming to them.

stick £50 in the pot towards making the guy something

when you have decided what to do for the guy pm and i will get the funds to

you as well as providing some content and seo for free

I cant believe people stole his bike while he was unconscious on the ground unreal.

 

There are a lot of scum out there. Very few people respect those who went and earned it, some just want to take others hard won effeorts. Blame the softening punishment of crimes...we need to change the Cost Benefit Analysis and provide suitable punishments that "cost" the potential criminal...only then will they think twice.

 

Most criminals don't think twice if you hit them financially, they simply commit more crime to fill the gap. If their 'cost' is to be sent to prison, it costs us more to do that.

Tagging and 'inconvenience' punishments works on lower level offenders, but administration costs are incurred as a result. Besides which, anything which is offered as a solution, no matter how simple, is always expected to have an overlying level of effective study to prove the benefits, again costing us more in tax.

One effective way of reducing crime year on year is jobs, wealth and affordability of goods, making people less inclined to commit crime. The other is about good parenting & teaching, instilling respect and realistic expectation in people.

 

That's the state of our country now unfortunately... no morals any more, just take take take...

Anyways I am a web developer by day so if you do get an idea for the site, let me know and I would be willing to put your ideas into something great... I mainly work in xhtml/css or cms' such as wordpress / joomla so anything goes.

Its disgraceful that the insurance company only paid £750 on a £16k bike because he didn't know the details.

I'd use the site to draw attention to that fact, then try and get press mentions/rank it for the insurance companies name. Bad publicity could hopefully get an obviously much needed £16k back to him.

 

Yes and no mate, I agree these people no the saying you can't get blood from a stone and they are not far off being right. However the other option is a kind of a reward to these people.

My solution is a bit different and goes back a few hundred years to when prisoners were made to screw crank machines. All we need to do is get this device linked into a generator and get these b's connected up to the national grid.

Start giving sentences in kilowatts (not years) and pump it into the national grid. So Mr X can't come out of his prison until he reaches £5000 of electricity back into society. Now if that takes you 10 days then fair enough, if you want to sit there and do sod all and it takes 14 years then that is your hard luck but you ain't coming out until you have repaid society. Some of that £5k will come off the electric bill of each of their victims.

Once the prisoners feel like they have made a contribution to society, they may start to respect it a bit more.

It is one thing to "work off" a conviction, another to rehabilitate a criminal.

Now, should burglars be disallowed from owning locks? Should it be mandatory for anyone convicted of showing disrespect for someone else's property that they must live with an "open house", doors that merely fasten?

Should people with convictions for violence be "free targets" - should the police be allowed to ignore their claims that they have been attacked, because they have previously been convicted of causing bodily harm?

Now, once upon a time I was severely beaten up in E16 by a pack of yobs who wanted to look inside my (empty) van while I was taking a leak.

They rolled up the side door like they were using a tin opener, then left a useless youth to discourage me from taking action (initiation rite). When I stuck him against a wall because he was getting on my nerves, a couple of big Nwords appeared out of nowhere and gave me a kicking (and another one nicked my phone as it bounced across the pavement, which was still waiting for Plod to pick up). When I got up, I wandered into a local newsagents, bleeding all over the place, and Mr Patel had already summoned Plod - lots of plod turned up, but it was too late, Ethel.

The moral of this story comes from an interview with DS Chief Plod before I went to the hospital, in which I said that I had a feeling that events were dictated by a ginger youth who was sitting on the corner when I pulled up - just the look he gave told me the story, but he was not in it anywhere else.

DS Chief Plod said he knew exactly what (and who) I meant, but unfortunately ...

I was left with three cracked ribs, broken glasses and no means of support.

Disqualify them from owning locks, taking out insurance, and any other means of security - no limited company to get around the disqualification. No insurance, no car, make them walk or catch buses. Make them go past a review board every five years to get limited privileges restored. Make them learn how it feels to be nervous.

WTH this does not help the current victim, Baby John ...

A friend, a Green Howards army sergeant veteran who lost use of an ear in NI due to a bomb going off in it during The Troubles, was left with a useless right arm when knocked off his scooter by a lorry driver. The court exonerated the lorry driver because my pal had concussion-induced amnesia.

My cousin died when his bike was in a collision with a bus. The bus driver was cleared of all charges because there were no witnesses ...

A lot later, his sister was hit by a lorry while walking along the pavement on a busy A road and spent 10 weeks in intensive care, and months longer coming back to "being normal". The offender was never identified ... in the meantime, the family business (a shop) went down the tubes ...

Her son was in an accident with a lorry. Bike wrecked, 3 months in intensive care, and the court came down in favour of the other driver because he couldn't remember what happened. He's almost human now, 20 odd years on, but he will never be "right". You into "biker talk"? His mates call him "Animal", after the muppet drummer - he was an electrician, once.

They lived next door, so it was closer to home than it would be in usual circumstances.
OK, I admit I have an axe to grind - but I know how it feels ...

How can these people just leave the poor guy in that state?
