completely out of leftfield but was thinking other day how much I loved 'monkey' , pigsy, tributaka etc from years back
something magical and nuts about it

think I will have to buy the dvd boxset, sure my eldest will love it
she's always fascinated by what I liked as a kid :)

and I'll have to sit through them all again, sheer heaven lol

It was the highlight of my Friday evening after school - why was it so good? Used to love Pigsy and Sandy used to look like Neil off The Young Ones...I going to search out a set now too!

About 3 months ago here on Rhodes some of my friends and I had a "homesick night", which was really just an excuse for a BBQ and some beers. Anyway he assembled a few episodes of Captain Pugwash, Rainbow, Love Thy Neighbour (wow) and Alf Garnet. We had a great laugh, but I dont know how thye got away with some things in those days, pretty borderline, even in Captain Pugwash!

Monkey was one of my favourite shows as a kid (along with 'Cheggers Plays Pop' (I loved the hooter noise at the end of each game).
Loved the way Monkey rapidly waved his fingers across his face whilst making the blowy/whistly noise.
Maybe the phrase 'in the cloud' was first spawned from back then... who knows ? lol

Thanks for sharing Pred ! :)

Anyone remember the Water Margin, it was before Monkey, i preferred that myself.

The Water Margin ... gosh, I'd forgotten about that one - Yes, that was great.
Loved Monkey as well.

Different theme again - what about the old black and white Robinson Crusoe?

the young ones was amazing too

I couldn't believe how hard it is to even find any of the original episodes on youtube!
some people on there complaining have searched for hours

there is the new crappy version made as a film apparently few years back

i have found a copy of all three series in 3 auctions on ebay
am bidding
PLEASE don't bid this time

again, whats amazing is they are only 3 on enay at this minute!

what I will say is whoever owns rights, if they replayed in UK on channel 4 or something, would be a smash hit again imo

Pred, you can see The Young Ones series 1&2 on Netflix.co.uk, it's a great service. :)

Or do you mean Monkey? :D

actually on a sort of similar vein, I have just added the original count of monte cristo to my watch list on ebay

the richard chamberlain, tony curtis one

the guy pierce one is very good too, but can't touch original

next best is the gerard depardieu version after original, brilliant

Monkey Magic was an awesome show, my elder sisters thought I looked like pigsy and kept calling me it so I just went with the flow and had pigsy as my CB radio handle.

I loved the James Whale Radio Show! He was brutal, shame it was cut.

I think it was Cell Block H, then James Whale, then American Gladiators (in later years). :D

If you're a Cell Block H fan you really should watch the whole lot from beginning to end, LoveFilm do a roaring trade out of me, lol.

What with the Freak, Queen B, Vinegar T*ts, Lizzie, Doreen and co, lol.

The Oldies (The stuff dreams are made of)

On the inside the sun still shines....
and the rain falls down,
but the sun and rain are prisoners too...
when morning comes around.

I used to watch Cell Block H all the time, the Aussies done a great soap... from memory it was on around 11pm.... crazy as i must have been pretty young at the time (I'm 35 this June).

Obviously Monkey is an all time great, i remember wanting my own cloud and practicing kungfu in the living room, lol, good times :)

Next we'll be talking about afternoon kids TV, Let's pretend, rainbow, Jamie & The Magic Torch << one of my faves, puddle lane, finger mouse, magic roundabout etc....

Then we have other greats... Thunder Cats, Dungeons & Dragons, Muppet Babies, Fraggle Rock, Grange Hill, huckleberry finn, Rentaghost, Danger Mouse, Banana Man, Captain Caveman, Count Duckula, Button Moon, Transformers , HeMan, Bertha, Art Attack, Crackerjack, Why Don't You, Metal Mickey, The Moomins, M.A.S.K, Bravestarr, The Raggy Dolls, Razzamatazz, Supergran, Going Live, Inspector Gadget, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, Knight Rider (legend), The Littlest Hobo, Tucker's Luck, Worzel Gummidge (loved it), marmalade atkins...

The memories are flowing like it was only yesterday....
