If someone has a genuinely nice @ on twitter, @monkey or @tiger for example, and they're looking to move on it on (I know you aren't suppose to sell handles) where would be the place to offer such a thing for sale?

Obviously, personally, selling a twitter handle is something I would never do as I wouldn't want to violate twitter ToS, but just interested to know for research

Feel free to PM me if it's not appropriate to post in thread

I don't know anywhere you can list it, but if you are approaching people/companies direct then including the @username as part of the deal when they buy a domain/website could mean you don't violate ToS as usernames get passed over with website purchases all the time.

Years ago you used to be able to get them on places like blackhatworld, but you often found that a few weeks later the accounts would get banned because they were either being reported, the walls had eyes/ears or were being abused. Most of the time though those handles were only selling due to the follower amounts rather than uniqueness of the name.

If it were me, Id be concerned to approach them in case they would take their trademark and just turn to twitter and complain of squatting

I thought that according to Twitter, the owner is whom has access to the email account associated. Buy the email address, buy the handle!

EpicNPC often has them for sale, couldn't tell you what it's like as a platform though.

That's my stance. I always check for Twitter handles of domains I buy, and if they're a) idle and b) linked to the domain I just bought, I reset the password and add them to my portfolio. I've acquired some very useful handles this way, and because they're usually from expired domains, they're generally well aged and have a relevant audience in situ.
