    Is this legit?

Thanks, Yes I see now, the fraud is domain appraisal. I guess 1and1 won't care too much that people are abusing their trademarks to commit fraud, but if they care to find this thread the email header shows them what domain to ask GD to close down.

    Is this legit?

I got the following email about a domain, but being suspicious of out of the blue solicitations, is this likely to be some form of scam, Googling and checking LinkedIn fails to find a Dennis Berger associated with one-and-one. And the email comes from a spoof style domain registered at...

    Wanted: Domain Appraisal Locally.co.uk

Cheers. I just been taking a good look at domainlore. Seems that nothing that isn't great even sells. I was half thinking about listing up a few other domains I have (what I call SEO domains ) basically twoword.co.uk domains but I doubt they would even sell.

    Wanted: Domain Appraisal Locally.co.uk

Yes, I can see that on domainlore might be £500-£1,500 maybe. Definately prepared to hold out for a non trade buyer. Just really the best approach? Park it somewhere? Contact possible purchasers directly? List on auction with higher reserve prices?

    Wanted: Domain Appraisal Locally.co.uk

Not sure sharing the exact purchase price publicly would be beneficial to me. If we got a bargain then I'm sure that if we market it and people found this thread will be offering only just a little bit more. If we paid too much, well, you'll just be laughing. I think we paid a fair...

Are you suggesting direct approaches rather than listing on auction site?

    Wanted: Domain Appraisal Locally.co.uk

Up until 2014 it was a local directory (for cornwall) it still has backlink traffic as a directory. Since 2014, when we purchased it, it has been attached to our site which is a web design business that was targeted at local businesses. However we have out grown the local part of our business...

Thinking about selling locally.co.uk (with .uk) Any thoughts on what might be achieved, and the state of the market now versus waiting?

    The Death Of Web Designers..

I agree that is the change. People that are poor designer and selling junk will die out. An analogy with clothing design. Caveman - get some skins, stitch it together him self, sort of works and keeps warm. Pre industrial revolution - either your mum or your aunty made your clothes, or if...

    The Death Of Web Designers..

Dead & dying are emotive words. What actually is happening is it is changing. Who designs the WordPress themes? Obviously web designers. And you can make a lot more money by selling your design 5,000 times at £50 each than you can by selling a single design at £5,000. All our work involves...

    The Death Of Web Designers..

An interesting discussion. I joined this forum to gather more information on acquiring domains, but as my business builds WordPress theme based websites for local businesses I got drawn to this thread. One of the key questions (in my mind) is the use of the term Web Designers. We actually tried...
