Can anyone help me obtain a domain name that is being redirected

Thanks for your comments. As Beasty said, I've got nothing to sell, and in answer to Lee, no, I'm not setting up business as anything. And yes, the registrant may be legitmate - that's why I was trying to distinguish between "can't contact because he's got a fake address" and "can't get a...

Scam The London Office for Verifications and Registrations

This website: http://www.domainscams.co.uk/domain-name-scammer_3_London-Office-of-Verifications-and-Registrations.php ... suggests that Loovar is linked to other companies based in Swansea. This would be consistent with previous scams - see the Nominet website...

Can anyone help me obtain a domain name that is being redirected

I'm assuming that this is a .uk? If not, your options are more limited as you can't get help out of Nominet. When you say "the current owner is uncontactable" do you mean: 1. You've written to the WHOIS address and they haven't responded? 2. You've emailed [email protected] and...

is any domain safe from drs?

Nominet isn't secretive about the DRS. There is a lot of information, including answers to all the questions you have asked at: http://www.nominet.org.uk/go/drs

    Whois... Nick Wenban-Smith

I have no idea what has happened that has upset you. I don't work for Nominet, so I don't have any special knowledge about what they are doing. Even if you tell me, I sincerely doubt I'd want, or be in a position, to comment. I don't know the new lawyer. Just because he has chosen to do...

    Whois... Nick Wenban-Smith

Why would you want to contact me? I don't work for Nominet, or even in the field of domain names now.

    Ed has left the building...

I didn't see this thread at the time - I'd stopped reading this forum as I left. However, I've found it now. Thank you for the kind comments. In response to "grandin" - no, I didn't leave as a protest about anything. It was all very amicable and I have an interesting new job away from the...

    Egm 2

I don't deal with the corporate law side that much, and in particular the Annual Report, so I won't answer that bit. I would say (and maybe you have taken this into account) that our end-of-year and AGM are quite far apart. The Chairman did indicate at the last AGM that he considers this needs...

    DRS question

Just to pick up on some of the points raised: 1. However sensible/fair you think the court's "Without Prejudice" rule is, it was clear prior to the formal rules change (and particularly so prior to Scooby Doo) that (a) people did not understand it and (b) it was being abused. Something had to...

    DRS question

In light of the post above by Sneezycheese, I feel I have to make a response. Clearly that post is defamatory, and needlessly offensive. I think that the normal course of action for a company in this position would have been to ask the moderator to remove the post and, quite possibly, to sue the...

NZ adopting Nominet DRS but amended

This clause is designed to deal with the fact that the DRS is new to them. It isn't relevant to the UK DRS which has been operational for a while. For changes that might occur to the DRS, see the latest PAB meeting. Ed.

    Good idea for Nominet ?

Nominet lawyers, essentially. I'll most likely be writing the revisions for the next update, as I did with the last. While I have a moment to post, I'll just pick up on a couple of other things: 1. The purpose of having abuse at the time of registration or later use is actually one of the...

    bounce.co.uk drs

The usual format for a DRS review is to have a public consultation, and currently I would expect that this time around. In a consultation, you are free to put in any thoughts you have, so even if there isn't a question on service of documents you will be able to make your views felt.

    bounce.co.uk drs

Well, I've said before on this forum, and I should say again - I don't always have time to post. In addition, bounce.co.uk is potentially under appeal, so I really do not want to make any comment on it specifically. On the topic of service times etc, that is something that can be looked...

    Nominet EGM ... results in

TM's are on a renewable lease - albeit that they last a bit longer. They also come with T&Cs - but since this is the government, they can put them in the law and statutory rules. There are dispute processes for TM opposition etc too.
